Status: historical. This roundup covered Cyber Monday on December 2, 2024. Its prices and promotions are not current offers as of September 28, 2026; treat them as a record of what was advertised, not as prices available now. The headline’s $374 PlayStation 5 was the Slim Digital Edition, while T-Mobile’s “free” AirPods 4 required a qualifying phone transaction, trade-in, plan and bill credits.
What the headline deals actually were
BGR’s December 2, 2024 roundup reported discounts across gaming, Apple devices, mattresses, coffee makers and household electronics. The prices below are historical figures reported that day, not independently verified current prices. The publisher described the prices as available “today”; stock, checkout totals and retailer terms could change.

Why T-Mobile’s AirPods 4 were not simply free
T-Mobile announced a limited-time Cyber Monday Apple bundle beginning December 2, 2024. It paired an iPhone 16 Pro with an Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) and AirPods 4, but the components had eligibility requirements. For the AirPods promotion, the offer was tied to a qualifying iPhone transaction, eligible trade-in and Go5G Next or Go5G Business Next plan. T-Mobile described the bundle in its Cyber Monday 2024 announcement.
#1 Best Overall

And you can track down your AirPods and Charging Case with the Find My app.*
“On Us” promotions typically deliver value through monthly bill credits rather than an unconditional discount at checkout. T-Mobile’s terms for its promotions describe conditions that can include 24-month credits, taxes on the pre-credit price, a device connection charge, limits on combining offers and credits that may take up to two billing cycles to appear. Credits may stop if service is cancelled or a financed device is paid off early. Exact conditions depend on the specific promotion and customer eligibility; see T-Mobile’s promotional offer details and its 2024 promotional offer terms.
How to assess the real cost
- Add the plan’s recurring cost for the full period needed to receive the credits, plus taxes and applicable fees.
- Check the trade-in device requirements and whether its condition qualifies before valuing the credit.
- Account for the financed phone and any balance that could remain if you leave early.
- Compare that total with buying AirPods separately and choosing the wireless plan you would otherwise use. The offer is a poor fit if you do not want the qualifying plan or phone commitment.
The $374 PS5 was the Digital Edition
The $374 price was for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition, not the console with a disc drive. BGR listed the disc-equipped PS5 Slim at $424, a DualSense controller at $54 and PlayStation VR2 at $349 against a listed regular price of $600. These are all reported Cyber Monday 2024 prices, not current quotes.

| Console | Reported 2024 price | Disc drive | Better fit for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 Slim Digital Edition | $374 | No | Players who buy and play games digitally and want the lower upfront price. |
| PS5 Slim | $424 | Yes | Players who use physical games, buy used discs, lend or resell games, or want Blu-ray playback. |
The $50 gap was only the initial difference. A buyer considering the Digital Edition should compare the separate disc-drive cost and the savings they expect from physical games before deciding it is cheaper over time. Console prices and available configurations should be checked with a retailer or PlayStation Direct.
Apple discounts reported in the 2024 roundup
The roundup’s Apple prices were retailer deal prices, not a promise that Apple itself sold every item at that amount. Its listed comparison prices are shown as “listed regular price” because they are not evidence of recent transaction prices. Models, configurations, colors and stock could differ by seller.

When comparing Apple offers, check the chip, screen size, storage and other configuration details rather than relying on a product-family name. Also distinguish AirPods 4 from AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation and the Apple Watch SE from Series 10. Apple’s direct store may differ from retailer pricing; buyers should compare price against their preferences for direct support, trade-in, financing, engraving and return terms. Apple’s current product and purchase pages are at AirPods 4 and Apple shopping.
Nectar’s $296.65 price was a starting price
The roundup reported selected Nectar memory-foam mattresses starting at $296.65 during the 2024 promotion. It did not establish that every mattress cost that amount or specify one model, size, firmness, generation, delivery charge or final checkout price. Check the exact size and model, whether a discount is automatic, delivery costs, trial and return conditions, and any foundation requirement. A low entry price is useful only if the mattress and return terms suit the buyer. Current model and policy details should be confirmed with Nectar.

The $60 Keurig and coffee trade-offs
The $59.99 deal identified in the roundup was for the Keurig K-Express. That is an entry-level single-serve pod brewer, not an espresso machine. The article did not establish whether the price included pods, shipping, tax or a particular retailer’s stock. Before buying, confirm the exact model listing, water reservoir and cup-size features, reusable-filter compatibility, included accessories and warranty.
Pod brewers trade convenience and portion control for recurring pod costs and disposable packaging. Heavy coffee drinkers may spend less over time with a drip brewer or reusable-pod setup. The roundup also reported a Philips Series 3300 automatic espresso machine at $549.99 against a listed regular price of $800; that is a different kind of machine and a substantially larger purchase, not a direct substitute for a basic pod brewer. See Keurig’s product information for current brewer details.

Quick Recap
A practical way to judge deals like these
- Confirm the date and seller. A dated deal headline does not establish that its offer is still active. For electronics, check the retailer’s current listing; retailer deal hubs include Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart.
- Match the precise model. Verify console disc-drive status, Apple chip and storage, headphone ANC, mattress size, or appliance model number.
- Calculate the full cost. Include taxes, shipping, service plans, financing, consumables and required accessories.
- Check the exit terms. For carrier offers, read credit and cancellation conditions; for mattresses, check trial, return and pickup rules; for retailer purchases, confirm return eligibility and seller identity.
- Compare against a meaningful baseline. A listed regular price is not the same as the item’s recent street price. Do not treat an “all-time low” or “best ever” description as independently verified price-history data.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
