Who is making Edgerunners 2?
CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement credits Bartosz Sztybor as showrunner, story writer, and producer; Kai Ikarashi as director; Kanno Ichigo as lead character designer; and Masahiko Otsuka for screenplay adaptation. The official series site identifies CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER as creators. How the announcements fit together
The earlier public record adds context without resolving whether the March tease became Edgerunners 2. CD PROJEKT Group’s 2024 annual report says a new animation project set in the Cyberpunk universe was announced in September 2024 and intended for Netflix, but the passage does not name it. The later investor-chat statement confirms an anime project was in development by March 2025; the July announcement names Edgerunners 2. None of those sources explicitly connects the unnamed project to the series. The annual report is the source for the September 2024 note.
For scale, CD PROJEKT Group reported that Cyberpunk 2077 had sold more than 30 million copies by November 2024. That is a company-reported cumulative game-sales milestone, not a figure for anime viewers. The group’s report records the sales figure.
