For a flexible all-rounder, choose Widow Maker; for close-range burst, choose DB-2 Satara; and for charged long-range shots, choose Nekomata. This is a role-based editorial ranking, not an official list or the result of a fresh controlled test: the best Tech weapon depends on range, charge timing, weapon Tier, and your build.
How this ranking works
Tech weapons reward players who are willing to charge shots and invest in the relevant character build. The picks below are ordered by practical role coverage and flexibility rather than by a single damage figure. Game8’s Tech weapon list identifies the weapon classes and candidates, but its damage values are not a standardized current comparison.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0 overhauled perk trees, added Bolt shots as a Tech weapon ability, changed weapon progression, and made damage scale by Tier. It also made Iconic weapons the only weapons that can be upgraded. Consequently, a weapon’s displayed base damage is not a fixed measure of how it will perform across different builds and Tiers. See CD Projekt Red’s Update 2.0 notes for the system changes.
Best Tech weapons, ranked by role
1. Widow Maker — best all-round precision pick
Widow Maker earns the top spot for players who want accurate, deliberate shots without committing to a sniper rifle’s long-range specialization. As a Tech precision rifle, it occupies a useful middle ground: more controlled than a close-range shotgun, but less narrowly focused than a dedicated sniper rifle. It is the strongest starting recommendation here if you want one Tech weapon for varied encounters and are comfortable charging shots.

2. DB-2 Satara — best close-range burst
The double-barrel Satara is the pick for players who want Tech firepower at close range. Its role is distinct from the precision rifles: bring it when you expect short engagements and want a powerful burst rather than sustained, measured shots. Its close-range focus keeps it below the more flexible picks for a general-purpose loadout.
3. Nekomata — best charged long-range option
Choose the Nekomata if your priority is lining up charged shots from a distance. As a Tech sniper rifle, it is the most specialized option in this ranking: useful when range and patience matter, less convenient when enemies close quickly or targets demand rapid follow-up fire.
Rank #2
- Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City
- Become a cyberpunk, an urban mercenary equipped with cybernetic enhancements and build your legend on the streets of Night City
- Take the riskiest job of your life and go after a prototype implant that is the key to immortality
4. Lizzie — best Tech pistol for a compact loadout
Lizzie is a Tech pistol option for players who prefer a sidearm-sized weapon over a rifle or shotgun. It suits a more mobile, close-to-mid-range approach, though its pistol role makes it a less versatile answer than the top precision pick when you need to cover varied distances.

The M-76E Omaha is a second Tech pistol to consider if you want the pistol format. Choose between it and Lizzie based on how each feels with your current Tier and build rather than assuming a static damage ranking: weapon performance scales under the post-2.0 system.
Rank #3
- THE ULTIMATE CYBERPUNK 2077 EXPERIENCE - Includes the critically acclaimed spy thriller expansion Phantom Liberty
- CREATE YOUR OWN CYBERPUNK
- Explore the city of the future – you decide when you want to go where and how to get there
- Decide how the story ends – your choices in the main game as well as in the spy thriller adventure Phantom Liberty lead to a complex web of consequences
Other Tech weapons to consider
Comrade’s Hammer, DR-12 Quasar, RT-46 Burya, Senkoh LX, M-179E Achilles, and HA-4 Grit are also Tech weapon candidates. Their inclusion gives you alternatives if the ranked picks do not fit your preferred firing pattern or available loadout. The general trade-off remains the same: consider intended range, firing pattern, time spent charging, and whether your build supports Tech weapon play.
Update 2.1 is relevant context for three of those alternatives. CD Projekt Red’s Update 2.1 patch notes, published December 5, 2023, say fully charged full-auto Senkoh LX, DR-12 Quasar, and HA-4 Grit shots were made more stable and do roughly 15% more damage when charge mode is active. That is a dated balance change for those named weapons, not evidence that they outrank the other picks today.

Choose by the job you need done
- One flexible Tech weapon: Start with Widow Maker for a precision-focused middle ground.
- Close-range burst: Pick DB-2 Satara.
- Long-range charged shots: Pick Nekomata.
- A pistol rather than a long gun: Compare Lizzie and M-76E Omaha at your current Tier and with your build.
No official relative ranking or current controlled test establishes a universal winner. Treat the order above as a practical starting point, then weigh each weapon’s charge timing and firing pattern against how you actually fight.
