Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is already available on Mac. CD Projekt Red announced the Apple-silicon version on October 30, 2024, saying it would arrive “early next year”—meaning early 2025—but the actual release date was July 17, 2025. The Mac edition includes the base game, Phantom Liberty and updates through Update 2.3.
It runs officially on Apple-silicon Macs with at least 16GB of unified memory and macOS 15.5 or later.

What was originally announced?
CD Projekt Red announced a native Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on October 30, 2024. The phrase “early next year” referred to early 2025; it was not an indication of a 2026 release window.
The announced package included the main game, the Phantom Liberty expansion and updates available at launch. CD Projekt Red listed the Mac App Store, Steam, GOG.com and Epic Games Store as distribution platforms.

When did Cyberpunk 2077 release on Mac?
The Mac version launched on July 17, 2025, alongside Update 2.3. It is a native Apple-silicon version using Apple’s Metal graphics technology, rather than a cloud-streaming release.
It is available through the Mac App Store, Steam, GOG.com and the Epic Games Store.

Steam lists an M3 Pro with 18GB memory as its recommended Mac tier. That is a hardware category, not a promise of a specific frame rate or graphics setting.

The official requirements exclude Intel Macs from the supported platform description. An 8GB M1 Mac also does not meet the stated minimum, despite having an Apple-silicon processor. Check the official Mac requirements before downloading.
Which Macs are suitable?
Use this checklist:
- Confirm that the Mac uses Apple silicon rather than an Intel processor.
- Check that it has at least 16GB of unified memory.
- Update to macOS 15.5 or later.
- Reserve 92GB for Steam, GOG or Epic, or 159GB for the Mac App Store.
An M1 Mac with 16GB meets the published minimum, but it should not be treated as equivalent to an M3 Pro, M3 Max, M4 or higher-end Mac Studio. Performance varies with the chip’s GPU cores, memory, display resolution, ray tracing, frame generation, thermal limits and whether the Mac is plugged in. Fanless MacBook Air models may also have less sustained cooling capacity than Macs with active cooling.
CD Projekt Red provides a “For This Mac” graphics preset intended to help configure settings for the specific device. The Mac version also supports features including ray tracing, frame generation, HDR tuned for Apple XDR displays and Spatial Audio with head tracking on compatible AirPods.

Which storefront should you choose?
- Steam: The most straightforward choice for existing Steam owners and players who want the game in a conventional PC library.
- GOG.com: A strong option for buyers who prioritize DRM-free ownership; existing GOG owners are included in the free Mac-download statement.
- Epic Games Store: Convenient for existing Epic owners, but it remains a separate account and launcher ecosystem.
- Mac App Store: Suits users who prefer Apple’s purchasing and update system, but it requires the larger 159GB free-space allowance and is not interchangeable with the other stores.
Prices and discounts vary by region and date. Check the live storefront rather than relying on older price listings. If you already own the game on Steam, GOG or Epic, check your library before purchasing Ultimate Edition again.
Is the Mac version an emulated Windows release?
No. Apple’s technical material describes a native Mac implementation optimized for Apple silicon and Metal. Game Porting Toolkit was used during evaluation and development, but the released product is presented as a native Mac version rather than a Windows build being streamed or simply emulated.
That native implementation does not make every supported Mac a high-end gaming machine. The published minimum establishes compatibility, not guaranteed frame rates. More demanding settings—particularly high resolutions and ray tracing—require more graphics performance than the minimum M1 specification.
