Was Update 2.0 the same as Phantom Liberty?
No. Update 2.0 was a free overhaul for the base game, while Phantom Liberty was a separate expansion. CD Projekt Red said additional content for Phantom Liberty owners would follow on September 26, 2023. The two dates are therefore distinct: Update 2.0 launched September 21, and Phantom Liberty content followed September 26.
What did Update 2.0 change?
The update overhauled major gameplay mechanics and core features, including the police system and perk trees, alongside fixes and improvements. It was an update to the base game, not a separately sold expansion. The free rollout covered PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
