Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 is already available; CD PROJEKT RED announced its release for July 17, 2025. It adds AutoDrive, Delamain taxi rides, four vehicles and expanded Photo Mode tools, alongside gameplay, accessibility and technical changes. The update is free for owners of the base game, and it does not require Phantom Liberty or a new save.
What Update 2.3 adds
AutoDrive and Delamain rides
AutoDrive takes an owned vehicle toward a map pin or job objective. If you have not selected a destination, it can instead take V on a leisurely drive. It is disabled during combat and when the vehicle is heavily damaged. For a taxi ride, summon a Delamain cab from the vehicle menu after completing “Don’t Lose Your Mind” (any outcome) and receiving Delamain’s message. Rides cost eurodollars.

More control in Photo Mode
Photo Mode gains 27 additional NPCs to pose in scenes, alternate outfits for spawned characters and access to V’s saved Wardrobe outfits. You can also adjust Look-At Camera behavior, lighting, depth of field and color balance; add new stickers and frames; and control weather and time. Weather choices include rain, acid rain, fog, sandstorm, pollution and sunny conditions. Frame advance and game-speed controls offer further control over a shot.
Gameplay, accessibility and quality-of-life changes
Update 2.3 adds a toggle for aiming down sights and an option to replay the gameplay tutorial. It also adjusts prompts for inverted mouse buttons, fixes a range of quest, gameplay, radio, visual and localization issues, and addresses automatic weapons firing more slowly than intended. The patch notes also describe a change to Cyberware Capacity Shard drops in a specific case involving missed shards; consult the full notes for the condition.

Platform support and technical requirements
The current Update 2.3 FAQ lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac. The original July 16, 2025 patch-notes announcement said the Switch 2 version would follow later, so that wording was a description of the launch schedule, not the FAQ’s current platform list. Mac availability is with the Apple silicon version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. Check the relevant platform or store listing for present-day availability.

Some technical features depend on hardware, drivers or display settings:
- PC: The patch notes list AMD FSR 4 for compatible AMD GPUs, with a supporting AMD driver required before the option appears; AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation; Intel XeSS 2.0; and HDR10+ Gaming for certified Intel GPUs. HDR10+ Gaming also requires a compatible display and Game Mode.
- PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S: The update adds VRR support. The PS5 notes also include a foliage-and-weather fix.
- Save files: The maximum save size rises from 12 MB to 15 MB, according to the patch notes.
These are listed features and fixes, not measured performance results: the official materials provide no benchmark data establishing frame-rate or image-quality gains.

How to get Update 2.3
- Make sure you own Cyberpunk 2077 on a supported platform. If you do not own the base game, you need to purchase it; the update itself is free to owners.
- Connect your platform to the internet and check for the game’s update. The official FAQ says connected owners receive the automatic download on supported platforms. If it does not begin automatically, use your platform’s game-update option.
- Install the update and launch your existing save. You do not need Phantom Liberty, Ultimate Edition or a new game to access the update on a platform where you own the base game.
For the official platform, ownership and save-state answers, see the Update 2.3 FAQ. CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement gives July 17, 2025 as the release date and summarizes the vehicle and travel additions in its Update 2.3 announcement.
