If Windows says “The program can’t start because DataBinding.dll is missing from your computer,” the affected application cannot load one of its Corel components. databinding.dll is an application DLL associated most clearly with Corel graphics software, not a normal Windows file.
You may also see:

The 60-second answer
Close Corel applications, then repair the installed Corel product:
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs and then Programs and Features.
- Select your installed CorelDRAW or Corel graphics product.
- Click Uninstall/Change.
- Choose Repair.
- Complete the repair wizard and restart Windows.
This restores missing or damaged files from the application’s own installer. Do not download databinding.dll from a random DLL website, copy it into System32, or run regsvr32 against it.
If Repair is unavailable, reinstall the same Corel product and architecture using the original installer from your Corel account or an official Corel support channel.

What is databinding.dll?
databinding.dll is a Windows DLL used by the application that installed it. Public file records describe it as the DataBinding library (64-Bit) and associate it with Corel Corporation.
The clearest public evidence points to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019, particularly its 64-bit Windows installation. A reported location is:
C:Program FilesCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2019Programs64DataBinding.dll
That location is inside Corel’s program directory. It is not the normal location for a Windows system component.
Reported metadata identifies a 64-bit Corel file with version 21.3.0.755, but that information comes from independent file records rather than a universal Corel manifest. Do not assume that version, size, or path applies to every Corel release.

There is no good evidence that databinding.dll belongs to Windows, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, DirectX, or .NET. It should not normally be in either of these folders:
C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64
The filename alone does not prove that Corel is responsible if another program displays the error. Check the executable named in the error and the path it is trying to load.
Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
The best-documented copy is 64-bit and appears in a Corel Programs64 directory. A 64-bit Corel executable needs compatible 64-bit application files.
Do not copy an x86 DLL into Programs64, and do not mix a file from CorelDRAW 2019 with a different Corel release. The wrong architecture or build can produce a “could not be loaded” or “not designed to run on Windows” message even when a file with the right name exists.

Why the error appears
The most likely causes are:
- The Corel installation is incomplete or damaged.
- Antivirus software quarantined the file.
- A Corel update or uninstall was interrupted.
- The file belongs to a different Corel version or architecture.
- Windows has broader component corruption.
- Storage problems or malware damaged application files.
A missing-file message does not prove that Windows itself is missing a system DLL.
Fix 1: Repair Corel from Programs and Features
This is the correct first repair when CorelDRAW or another Corel graphics application names databinding.dll.
Steps
- Save your work and close every Corel application.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type:
text
appwiz.cpl
- Press Enter.
- Find the installed CorelDRAW Graphics Suite or other Corel graphics product.
- Select it and click Uninstall/Change.
- Choose Repair rather than Remove or Uninstall.
- Follow the installer prompts.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch the same Corel application again.
How to tell whether it worked
Corel should open without the missing-file message. Do not judge the repair only by checking whether a DLL appears in a folder. The application must also be able to load the correct build and its dependencies.
If Repair is not available, the installed product may have been deployed in a way that does not support maintenance from Control Panel. Continue with a clean reinstall.

Use this when Repair fails, the file remains missing, or the Corel entry has no Repair option.
Before removing Corel, back up custom templates, workspaces, macros, and other personal files if you need them.
Steps
- Identify the exact Corel product and edition in Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features.
- Note whether the installed program is 32-bit or 64-bit where the installer identifies that information.
- Obtain the original installer through your Corel account or official Corel support/download channel.
- Uninstall the affected Corel product from Programs and Features.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the original installer.
- Choose the same product, edition, and architecture.
- Complete installation.
- Apply the appropriate update offered for that product.
- Restart Windows and test Corel.
Corel’s update catalog distinguishes product editions and x86 and x64 packages. Do not install an update intended for a different edition.
If the newly installed program still reports databinding.dll, record the complete message, the executable that displays it, and the installation path. That may indicate a blocked file, an incorrect installer, a dependency problem, or that another program is requesting the DLL.

Fix 3: Check Windows Security Protection History
Antivirus software can quarantine an application DLL after an update or scan.
Steps
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Click Protection history.
- Look for an event mentioning the Corel installation or
DataBinding.dll. - Expand the event and review the detected file path and reason.
- If the file clearly belongs to your trusted Corel installation, repair or reinstall Corel first.
Prefer restoring the complete application through its official installer instead of restoring an isolated DLL. Restore a quarantined file only when you have confirmed that the detection is a false positive and the original Corel installer is trusted.
If the file is restored but Corel still fails, do not keep copying or renaming DLLs. Run the Corel repair again so the application files are restored as a matching set.
Fix 4: Apply the correct Corel update
A failed update can leave a program with files from mismatched builds.

- Open Corel’s built-in update feature if the application starts far enough to display it.
- Otherwise, sign in to your Corel account or use the official Corel support channel.
- Identify the exact product and edition.
- Download the update intended for that product and architecture.
- Close Corel applications.
- Run the update installer as an administrator if Windows requests permission.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the application.
Do not use a DLL archive as an update source. An update must replace the complete set of related application files, not only one named DLL.
Fix 5: Check for broader Windows corruption
DISM and System File Checker repair Windows components. They are not the primary repair for an application-local Corel DLL, but they are appropriate when other Windows programs also fail, Windows updates are broken, or you see several unrelated system-file errors.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC.
Steps
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
- Run:
cmd
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to complete.
- Then run:
cmd
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Test Corel again.

Fix 6: Update Windows and investigate drivers only when symptoms are broader
A graphics driver normally does not install Corel’s databinding.dll, so driver replacement is not a direct fix for this error. Consider it only if Corel also shows display corruption, crashes across several graphics applications, or fails after a Windows or graphics-driver change.

Check Windows Update
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- Select Download and install if updates are offered.
- Restart Windows.
Microsoft’s Windows Update instructions provide the current update workflow.
Check a graphics device in Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics adapter.
- Choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
If Windows cannot find a suitable driver, use the graphics hardware manufacturer’s official support page. Do not treat a driver update as a substitute for repairing Corel.
Manually checking hardware models, package versions, and compatibility can take time, especially when several devices are outdated. Do not run:
regsvr32 databinding.dll
regsvr32 is for DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. There is no reliable public evidence that Corel’s DataBinding.dll is a self-registering COM or ActiveX component.
A likely result is:
The module "DataBinding.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.
That error does not repair the missing dependency. Repair or reinstall the complete Corel application instead. Microsoft explains the purpose of regsvr32 and DllRegisterServer.
Why Windows Features and System32 copying are not the answer
Do not enable random Windows features to replace this file. Control Panel → Programs → Turn Windows features on or off changes optional Windows components, but it does not restore a missing Corel application DLL unless the error specifically identifies an optional Windows feature.

Likewise, do not copy databinding.dll into System32 or SysWOW64. Corel expects application-local files in its own installation directory. Placing a different build in a Windows directory can create conflicts and make future repairs less reliable.
If the file exists but Corel still will not start
A present file can still be unusable because it is:
- Corrupt.
- The wrong architecture.
- From a different Corel release.
- Blocked by security software.
- Missing a required dependency.
- Inaccessible because of permissions or storage errors.
Repair the complete installation rather than renaming the file or downloading another copy.

If Corel works under a new Windows user account, the problem may be damaged Corel user settings rather than the program binary. Preserve your custom settings where possible, then reset or recreate the affected Corel profile according to the product’s support instructions.

Can I download databinding.dll separately?
No. A standalone download may be the wrong build or architecture, modified, unsigned, or incompatible with the installed Corel product. Use Corel’s Repair option or its original installer.
