Deadlock reached a reported all-time peak of 236,730 concurrent players on October 6, 2026—the day Baba, the “notorious pigeon lady,” became available. The timing links the record and her release, but does not prove Baba alone caused the increase.
How many players did Deadlock reach?
SteamDB recorded 236,730 concurrent players as Deadlock’s all-time peak on October 6, 2026. That is a third-party tracker’s dated peak reading—not a count of unique players, registered accounts, or game owners. SteamDB’s Deadlock statistics

The record followed an earlier surge. GamesRadar reported that Deadlock had surpassed 228,000 concurrent players on September 30, after a major update that introduced gameplay changes and six new characters. That figure predates Baba’s arrival. GamesRadar’s September 30 report

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Did Baba’s release cause the player-count record?
The peak and Baba’s release occurred on the same day, so her arrival may have helped draw attention to Deadlock. But the available figures do not isolate her effect from the update as a whole, other new characters, publicity, or ordinary changes in player activity. The September 30 report also shows that Deadlock was already drawing more than 228,000 concurrent players before Baba was added.
Rank #2
It is therefore accurate to say Deadlock’s reported peak coincided with Baba’s release—not that Baba by herself set the record. The figures are third-party reports rather than an official Valve audience disclosure, and concurrent-player peaks do not measure total or unique players.
