Deadlock’s holiday skins were earned by completing hero-specific challenges during its 2024 Winter event. That event ended on January 17, 2025, so the old challenge list is historical: the available sources do not confirm that new players can unlock the skins now or that previously earned skins remain usable.
How the Deadlock holiday skin challenges worked
During the 2024 Winter event, each mainline hero had a unique Winter skin tied to a challenge. Players had to complete that hero’s requirement in a single eligible match. Only normal and Labs matches counted; custom games and matches against bots did not. The requirements were not listed in-game or in the patch notes, so players uncovered and shared them during the event. The following historical list is recorded by the Deadlock Wiki’s seasonal-event record.

| Haze | Get a seven-kill streak. |
| Infernus | Hit at least three enemies at once with Concussive Combustion. |
| Ivy | Silence six enemies total with T3 Air Drop bombs. The wiki notes that McGinnis turrets also seemed to count as an enemy. |
| Kelvin | Capture at least two allies and two enemies at once with Frozen Shelter. |
| Lady Geist | Use Soul Exchange while below 100 health. |
| Lash | Affect at least four total players with Death Slam; hooked and slammed enemies both count. |
| McGinnis | Destroy nine structures: Guardians, Walkers, Shrines, or Patron. |
| Mirage | Get three Djinn’s Mark kills. |
| Mo & Krill | Use Combo to get a kill or assist (“stack”) on each player on the enemy team. |
| Paradox | Kill three enemies while airborne. |
| Hit at least four enemies at once with Affliction. | |
| Seven | Kill an enemy with Storm Cloud’s thunderbolt. |
| Shiv | Kill three enemies with Killing Blow. |
| Vindicta | Kill two enemies during the same use of Flight. |
| Viscous | Hit three enemies with one Goo Ball. |
| Warden | Damage every enemy player with Binding Word at least once. |
| Wraith | Throw six cards in ten seconds or less. |
| Yamato | Kill two enemies with one Shadow Transformation. |
Some contemporaneous guides differed from the later event record. For example, Beebom’s January 3, 2025 guide described a Charged Shot damage condition for Grey Talon, while the wiki’s later list records repeated spirit-damage thresholds. The list above follows the wiki’s historical event record rather than combining the two versions.
When the event ended—and what that means now
The Winter event ran from December 17, 2024, to January 17, 2025, according to the Deadlock Wiki’s event record. In its January 17 update, Valve said the update marked the event’s conclusion and that players who participated would have a record of their achievements on their profile page.

Valve’s note confirms the event ended and mentions profile records; it does not establish whether an earned skin can still be equipped, whether the skins will return, or whether new players can unlock them. Beebom’s January 3 article also said permanence had not been clarified at that time. Treat the challenge steps as historical, not as instructions for a currently available unlock.
