Who plays Tarman?
Filmmaker George Miller appears as Tarman. Kojima Productions explicitly confirmed the role in its World Strand Tour 2 recap.
What are the confirmed Japanese launch-event cameos?
A PlayStation.Blog Japan report on the June 27, 2025 launch event identifies these additional appearances:
- Mamoru Oshii, the film director, appears as the Pizza Shopkeeper.
- Shigeru Chiba provides the Pizza Shopkeeper’s voice. This is a separate credit from Oshii’s appearance as the character.
- Usada Pekora appears as a holographic character.
- Gen Hoshino appears as an in-game musician under his own name and contributed the song “Sayonara.”
Does “cameo” mean every named performer has a brief role?
No. “Cameo” is often used loosely in coverage. The official sources confirm appearances and identify some roles, but do not classify every performer by screen time or establish that each additional appearance is brief or self-referential. The six central roles are distinct from the additional appearances PlayStation lists.
Is this the complete Death Stranding 2 cast list?
No complete official performer-and-character roster is established by the cited sources. PlayStation’s overview provides the six central roles and a selective set of additional names, while the developer and Japanese PlayStation report confirm several specific roles. The names above are therefore best read as notable confirmed cast and cameos, not every credited performer.
How were actors represented in the game?
In a PlayStation launch interview, the team said it used 4D scanning “for key characters to preserve subtle muscle movements and facial expressions of the actors.” That describes a technique used for key characters; it does not establish that every appearance used the same process. See the PlayStation launch interview for the production discussion.
