What was confirmed for the original game?
On August 19, 2022, Kojima Productions and 505 Games announced that the original Death Stranding would launch on PC Game Pass on August 23, 2022. Xbox Wire’s announcement described support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, along with ultrawide mode, photo mode, high frame rate, and crossover content.
Those details describe the 2022 PC announcement; they are not a current system-requirements list or a promise of a particular frame rate on any PC. Kojima Productions also announced the PC Game Pass arrival.
Is the original Death Stranding still on PC Game Pass?
The cited announcements establish that the original game joined PC Game Pass in August 2022, but they do not establish whether it remains in the catalog now. Game Pass availability can change, so check the live PC catalog before subscribing or downloading. Do not infer the original edition’s current status from a listing or announcement for Director’s Cut.

What is available through Game Pass in 2026?
On January 21, 2026, Kojima Productions announced that Death Stranding Director’s Cut was available through Xbox Game Pass on PC and console for Premium and Ultimate subscribers. That announcement concerns Director’s Cut, a separate edition, not confirmation that the original version remains in the PC catalog.
The official Xbox listing for Director’s Cut identifies Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. Check the listing and your region’s current Game Pass catalog for up-to-date availability and eligible plans.
