For Phase 3, Wowhead’s rogue DPS guide ranks Degraded Dire Nail as a best main-hand weapon and notes that its off-hand value is conditional on the build. Icy Veins also includes it in its Combat Rogue gear for Sunken Temple. These are phase-specific guide recommendations, not a timeless ranking or an official developer designation. Main hand
If you are gearing for the Phase 3 setup covered by the Wowhead guide, the dagger is a recommended main-hand option. Its level requirement and item stats make it a concrete weapon choice for an eligible character, but the guide’s ranking belongs to that phase and its assumptions.
Off hand
Do not assume the main-hand recommendation applies equally to the off hand. The guide says off-hand rankings vary with rune and build choices, so compare the weapon against your actual setup rather than treating the item as automatically optimal in both slots.

How to compare it with another dagger
- Check that your character meets the level requirement and that the weapon suits the intended hand.
- Compare speed, damage per second, Strength, and Agility alongside the relevant build mechanics.
- For rogue recommendations, use a guide for your phase and build; the cited rankings cover Phase 3 and do not establish a current post-Phase-3 best-in-slot ranking.
- Weigh the raid acquisition against your alternatives without assuming a drop rate; the cited sources do not provide one.
