Delta 1.7 beta 5, reported on February 24, 2025, refined online multiplayer setup for compatible Nintendo DS games and added controller-case support that lets skins reposition the pause menu. The beta also brought a “What’s New” screen and a set of fixes. Delta’s public 1.7 release followed on March 31, 2025, with official notes describing the core multiplayer and controller-skin features.
What changed in Delta 1.7 beta 5
The February 24 beta report describes several additions and fixes. Its online changes focus on making Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (WFC) server setup easier to manage; the public release notes later document online play as a feature for compatible DS games.
WFC server setup
- Known-server list: Delta can dynamically fetch known Nintendo WFC servers.
- First-connection choice: The app prompts users to select a server the first time they connect online.
- Configuration reset: A “Reset WFC Configuration” button provides a way to clear the current WFC setup.
These are beta 5 setup refinements, as described in iDownloadBlog’s February 24, 2025 report. Delta’s public release notes confirm the broader online-multiplayer feature, but do not repeat this full beta-specific change list.
Controller-case support and other changes
Beta 5 added controller-case support through controller skins, allowing the pause-menu position to shift to suit a case. It also introduced a “What’s New” screen listing new features. The beta report additionally lists fixes for analog sticks that acted like discrete inputs on poorly calibrated controllers, fast-forward remaining active after connecting online, save-state compatibility displays for non-DS systems, skin-selection reset controls, crashes involving save states from unsupported systems, and layouts after orientation changes.

What the public Delta 1.7 release confirms
Delta’s official release notes date version 1.7 to March 31, 2025. They describe online multiplayer for online-compatible Nintendo DS games through community Nintendo WFC servers. Users can choose a default server or enter a custom DNS setting. The App Store version history also includes public 1.7 feature descriptions.
The scope matters: the notes establish support for online-compatible DS games, not online play for every DS title. Community server availability is not guaranteed indefinitely, either.

How controller skins help with cases
Delta 1.7’s controller skins can adjust where the pause menu appears using the menuInsets property. The property supports vertical and horizontal insets, giving skin creators a way to move the menu clear of a case or controller hardware. Delta’s official notes name GAMEBABY and PlayCase as examples for this layout support; they do not certify every case model or establish fit for a particular iPhone.
