Zero Dam is the best starting map for most new Operations players; AZ3 is the strongest pick for squads seeking environmental hazards and extraction decisions. There is no official or statistically supported best-to-worst ranking: the order below is an editorial fit guide based on onboarding, route complexity, and risk-and-extraction tension. Map access and modes can change, so check the in-game map list before deploying. This reflects official updates available through October 8, 2026.
How Operations map rankings work
Operations is an extraction mode: loot only becomes yours if you extract, and death costs you carried items apart from items stored in the small safe box. That makes a map’s learning curve and route decisions matter as much as its layout. Garena’s Operations Mode 101 identifies Zero Dam as the place new players begin, which makes it the best-supported onboarding recommendation—not proof that it has the highest extraction rate or is easiest by measured statistics.
The sources do not provide comparable win rates, extraction rates, average loot, queue times, or player-preference data for the maps. The rankings below are therefore recommendations for different kinds of squads, not a claim of objective map quality. Where map-specific evidence is limited, the article avoids assigning unsupported hazards or loot advantages.
Best Operations maps, ranked by fit
1. Zero Dam — best first map
Zero Dam earns the top spot for beginners because official beginner guidance explicitly uses it as the Operations starting point. It is the clearest choice when learning the extraction loop, safe-box use, and the consequences of carrying loot without an extract.

Do not mistake that recommendation for a measured difficulty rating. The map has also changed: in an April 22, 2026 developer note, the Delta Force Team described a Season Echo redesign that rebuilt the elevator extraction point and changed waterway and reed-bed areas. Returning players should not assume every old route or extraction reference remains accurate. Read the Zero Dam developer note.
2. AZ3 — best for hazard and extraction-route decisions
AZ3 is the most clearly documented choice for teams that want map-specific environmental pressure. Garena’s Meltdown launch materials describe an irradiated nuclear power plant where environmental cues and puzzles can make squad decisions affect extraction routes. Radiation builds when operators enter contaminated areas or search radiation containers and affects the character. These mechanics add decisions beyond simply finding an exit, though the sources do not quantify how much harder or more rewarding AZ3 is than other maps. See Garena’s AZ3 launch announcement.

AZ3 debuted with Easy and Normal operations. The June 26, 2026 patch notes listed an access value of 112,500 Tekniq Alloy for Normal operations; that is an access requirement from those launch-period notes, not a current price guarantee or a measure of difficulty. On September 10, 2026, Garena stated that AZ3 Normal became permanently available. Meltdown patch notes · September 10 update.
3. Layali Grove — an alternative to check in the current client
Layali Grove appears in the third-party Delta Force Maps index with Easy and Normal labels. That can make it a map to consider if you want another listed lower-tier option after learning the basics, but those labels are not official difficulty measurements, and the available official material here does not establish its specific hazards, loot, or extraction behavior. Confirm its current modes and availability in the game before choosing it. Open the interactive map index.

4. Space City — for squads considering a listed Normal/Hard option
The same third-party index labels Space City Normal/Hard. Treat that as a navigation aid rather than an official ranking: the reviewed official sources do not provide comparable map-specific statistics or enough detail to claim that Space City is harder, richer, or more extraction-focused than the maps above. Check the active in-game listing for its current access and mode.
5. Brakkesh — another listed Normal/Hard option
Brakkesh is also listed as Normal/Hard by the third-party index. That tier is useful as a rough signpost only; no official comparative extraction, loot, or difficulty data establishes where Brakkesh belongs relative to Space City or other maps. Select it based on the current in-game options and your squad’s experience, not an assumed reward advantage.

6. Tide Prison — listed as Hard, with limited comparative evidence
The third-party index labels Tide Prison Hard. That is the only difficulty characterization established here; the official sources reviewed do not support claims about its specific hazards, loot returns, or extraction success. For newer squads, Zero Dam remains the better-evidenced starting recommendation; for Tide Prison, verify the current mode and access requirements in the client.

- Learning Operations: Start with Zero Dam, the official guide’s onboarding map.
- Seeking environmental choices that can affect extraction: Choose AZ3, whose radiation and route-changing decisions are documented by Garena.
- Comparing other listed maps: Use the third-party index as a planning reference, then verify difficulty, modes, and availability in the current client.
- Choosing for loot or success rates: No comparable official figures establish which map pays best or yields the highest extraction rate, so don’t treat the ranking as a statistical promise.
Which Operations maps are currently available?
As of October 8, 2026, the latest verified availability change in the cited official updates is Garena’s September 10 statement that AZ3 Normal is permanently available. The third-party index lists Zero Dam, Layali Grove, Space City, Brakkesh, Tide Prison, and AZ3, with the difficulty labels described above. That index may lag game updates; the current in-game map selection is the practical authority for what you can enter now.
