That date is in the past: the complete game is currently listed for Switch 2 and five other platforms. Nintendo buyers can access both the Switch and Switch 2 versions with one purchase outside Japan, provided they use the same Nintendo Account.
When did DELTARUNE launch on Switch 2?
Toby Fox announced that DELTARUNE Chapters 1–4 would release on June 5, 2025, and Nintendo’s UK Switch 2 store listing also gives June 5, 2025 as the release date. It was a launch-day game for the console, not an upcoming release. Toby Fox’s release announcement and Nintendo UK’s listing confirm the date.

Why do some release listings say June 4?
The launch date depended on platform and time zone. The Switch 2 version became available at midnight local time in each region on June 5. The other listed platforms used one simultaneous launch at 00:00 Japan time on June 5, which fell on June 4 in North America and parts of Europe. Nintendo’s US Switch listing reflects that conversion with a June 4, 2025 release date. The release-time announcement explains the timing, and Nintendo’s US listing shows the Switch date.
Which platforms have the full game?
As of the official FAQ reviewed October 8, 2026, Chapters 1–4 are listed for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The FAQ gives a North American price of US$24.99 and describes prices in other regions as roughly equivalent; check the relevant storefront for the local price. The official DELTARUNE FAQ lists the platforms and pricing.

Does the Switch 2 version have different content?
At launch, Fox described a small Switch 2-specific room that uses mouse controls on two controllers at once. He said the other versions included that room with a different control scheme, and that there was no meaningful difference in the amount of content, dialogue, setting, or music. That was a launch description; it does not establish that every technical detail has remained identical across platforms after updates. Fox’s announcement describes the room and the launch versions.
Can a Switch purchase be used on Switch 2?
Outside Japan, buying DELTARUNE for either Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 includes the other version at no additional cost. Both versions must be obtained using the same Nintendo Account. In Japan, the official FAQ says a small fee applies, so the no-extra-cost policy does not apply there. The FAQ gives the current policy; the launch notice specifies the same-account condition.

Is there a physical edition?
No physical game edition is currently available, according to the official FAQ, which says one may exist someday but not yet. Nintendo’s US store lists the Switch edition as digital. Do not confuse the digital game listing with a boxed or cartridge release. The FAQ addresses physical availability, and Nintendo’s US listing identifies the Switch product as digital.

The official FAQ says future chapters will be provided as free updates once they are ready. It also says Chapter 6 is in development and not completed. Separately, Fox warned in the 2025 release newsletter that Nintendo’s patch timing meant Switch and Switch 2 would initially miss some last-minute minor fixes, and that Nintendo versions might take longer to update. That was a launch-period caveat, not a statement about the game’s current patch status. The FAQ covers future chapters; the launch newsletter describes the initial patch situation.
