One important date: as of October 8, 2026, Gameloft says the game will leave app stores on October 30, 2026, and its online services will end January 29, 2027.
How do I control my Minion?
Minion Rush is a touchscreen endless runner. Gameloft’s control guide gives four basic gestures:
- Swipe left or right to change lanes.
- Swipe up to jump.
- Swipe down to slide.
In toboggan sections, hold a swipe to steer and collect bananas. Use clear, deliberate gestures: the official instructions describe these actions but do not specify special combinations or precise timing windows. See Gameloft’s control instructions.
How do I get a higher score in Minion Rush?
Keep the run manageable
Watch the path ahead and make each lane change, jump, or slide for a specific obstacle or pickup. A swipe changes what your Minion does, so avoid hurried gestures that make it harder to respond to the next obstacle. In Endless Run, hitting an obstacle ends the run; choosing Exit from the pause menu also ends it.

Use the pause screen to choose a goal
The pause screen shows goals and mission progress, including remaining mission actions, bananas, or score points. Check it when you are unsure what to prioritize: a mission may call for collecting bananas or reaching a score target, while another goal may reward a different approach. The in-run mission display also helps you track progress without guessing.
Choose a costume for the objective
Costumes provide score and banana-earning bonuses. Pick one from your collection that supports the goal you are pursuing; the official guide does not identify a universally best costume for every run or mission.

How do I use gadgets and power-ups?
Equip gadgets before the run
You can equip up to three gadgets before starting. Gadgets are activated manually, have limited charges, and can be upgraded to extend their ability duration. Treat a charge as a temporary tool: use it when its ability is relevant to the run or objective, rather than expecting it to last indefinitely. The official guide does not prescribe an optimal activation time.
Collect power-ups when useful
Power-ups activate automatically when collected. Gameloft’s guide says only one gadget or power-up is active at a time; it also describes how a subsequent power-up behaves while another effect is active. Account for that limit when deciding whether to collect a pickup immediately or focus on the path ahead.

What should I collect to make progress?
Bananas contribute to missions and Hall of Jam progression. If a run is focused on collection, follow safe banana routes rather than risking an obstacle for a pickup that is difficult to reach. Story puzzle pieces are another collectible: completing pictures unlocks in-game rewards.
Update 103, dated July 30, 2026, also describes World Tour destinations, where collecting Jets and Keys completes dioramas, and Boss Fight events that offer event currency and rewards. The notes introduce Hollywood as a location. Event schedules can change, so check the game or the current official announcements for live availability.

Is it worth reviving after a run ends?
The official guide says a revive is limited and may require watching an ad or spending in-game currency. Consider whether continuing serves a goal you still want to complete; there is no need to spend currency just because a revive is offered. Online-service changes may affect features that depend on connectivity.

Gameloft says installed copies are expected to retain basic offline gameplay using locally stored data. Live events, leaderboards, social features, cloud saves, and online account data will no longer be available after the online shutdown. Some other features of the online version may also be unavailable offline, and the publisher does not guarantee indefinite playability as devices and operating systems change.
The FAQ says progression will be accelerated and some content made easier to unlock during the final months. Gameloft also advises players to use remaining currency and unlock desired content before online services end. That is current publisher guidance, not a guarantee that a particular item will be available or that spending is necessary.
What changed in the current version?
Gameloft’s May 20, 2025 announcement says the game moved to Unity and added Endless Run, Hall of Jam progression, profile customization, collectibles, gadgets, and power-ups. The publisher also reported more than 1.2 billion cumulative downloads as of that announcement; this is not an active-player count.
