1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesI can’t responsibly rank ten current Destiny 2 pulse rifles from the available evidence: it does not establish a verified list of candidates, their live perk pools, availability, or acquisition routes. A made-up top ten would be less useful than a clear way to choose. The official balance snapshot below is dated June 9, 2026; treat any weapon recommendation as sandbox-dependent, not a universal verdict.
How to choose a pulse rifle
Start with the activity, then the weapon’s frame, perks, and current availability. A pulse rifle suited to PvP consistency may not be the best choice for PvE add clear. Perk pools and acquisition routes can change, so verify a specific roll in the live game or a current database before farming it.
- For PvP: prioritize a frame and roll whose burst behavior feels controllable at your preferred engagement distance. Controller and mouse input, aim preference, and individual comfort can change which weapon feels consistent.
- For PvE: look for perks that support the activity you want to play, such as efficient enemy clearing or useful damage against tougher targets. The best roll depends on the weapon’s current perk pool.
- For either mode: check whether the weapon is currently obtainable and whether its source is practical for you. An attractive roll is not actionable if its acquisition route has changed or is no longer available.
Why the sandbox date matters
Bungie’s May 29, 2026 This Week in Destiny preview specified a reduction to Lightweight Pulse Rifle damage: base damage changed from 19.7 to 18.8, and critical-hit damage from 31.5 to 30.1. The same preview raised the ADS damage-falloff scalar for both Legacy and High-Impact frames from 1.6 back to 1.7. These are frame-level tuning figures, not proof that a particular weapon is among the best.
Destiny 2 Update 9.7.0, dated June 9, 2026, is another balance checkpoint. Its notes include updated perk pools for craftable raid weapons and mention compensation for the Rocket Pulse damage nerf’s effect on weapon rotations. Check later official patch notes before relying on any ranking as current.

Bungie’s older Renegades Weapon Tuning Preview said Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifles were lagging other pulse sub-families in PvP and PvE effectiveness and described a base-damage increase intended to improve forgiveness and damage-boost breakpoints. Because that preview predates the May and June 2026 sources, it should not be read as a current performance assessment. The broader point—that recommendations shift with updates—is also noted in the University of Leeds paper “Controlling the Crucible: A Novel PvP Recommender Systems Framework for Destiny.”
What to verify before committing to a weapon
- Confirm the live weapon and its source. Search the weapon in the game or a current database; check that its listed activity, vendor, or drop source is still available.
- Inspect the current perk pool. Make sure the roll you want can actually drop or be crafted on that weapon now. Old “god roll” lists may refer to a different perk pool or sandbox.
- Match the roll to the activity. A PvP recommendation should explain its consistency or range use; a PvE recommendation should explain the job its perks perform. Don’t assume one roll is equally useful everywhere.
- Try it in your own setup. Burst control and comfort vary with input method and preference. A community favorite is not automatically the right fit for your aim style.
- Recheck after balance updates. Frame tuning can alter damage and falloff, while weapon-specific changes can affect the value of a roll.
Example: Redrix’s Estoc
light.gg’s Redrix’s Estoc listing identifies it as a Stasis primary-ammo Pulse Rifle and lists “Glory Matches in Crucible” as its source. That makes the listing a useful illustration of what to check—element, ammo type, and acquisition—but the source and current-drop details are time-sensitive. Confirm them in a live database or in-game before pursuing the weapon. This information alone does not establish that Redrix’s Estoc belongs in a top-ten ranking.

Where to check current gear information
Bungie’s Destiny 2 resources page points players toward community gear and perk databases. Use those databases to inspect candidates, then confirm important availability details against the current game and official updates. Database listings can help answer what a weapon can roll or where it is reported to drop; they do not, by themselves, prove a universal performance ranking.
