Ash & Iron added several named weapons to Destiny 2, including the Trials auto rifle Everburning Glitz, the Submersion Crossbow, and the Wolfsbane Exotic Axe. Bungie also announced new weapons for Portal activities, the Epic Desert Perpetual raid, and Iron Banner, but did not publish a complete named roster for every pool. This roundup separates confirmed new weapons from reprised and returning gear.

What are the new weapons in Destiny 2: Ash & Iron?

Ash & Iron launched on September 9, 2025, as a major update for The Edge of Fate. The weapons Bungie explicitly named across its launch and follow-up posts are listed below. The table distinguishes items described as new from older weapons that returned to loot pools.

Weapon Type and details Bungie stated Announced source or activity Status
Exotic Micro-Missile Pulse Rifle (proper name not stated) Strand Exotic Pulse Rifle; fires sticky bombs that can be detonated shortly after firing for high damage. Ash & Iron Reward Pass New; Bungie’s launch post describes it without giving its proper name.
Everburning Glitz Kinetic Rapid-Fire Auto Rifle. Trials of Osiris loot pool New.
Submersion Crossbow. Seasonal events and Call to Arms; Bungie later described a Portal-activity drop. New.
Wolfsbane Exotic Axe. Quicksilver Nanites accumulate on hits and kills; an overclock changes its Heavy attack. Heliostat Exotic Mission New; Bungie named it in an October follow-up.
Phoneutria Fera Spread Shot Hand Cannon. Iron Banner post-match reward Named Iron Banner reward.
Ribbontail Trace Rifle. Iron Banner post-match reward Named Iron Banner reward.
Burden of Guilt Stasis Adaptive Fusion Rifle. Trials loot pool Reprised, not new.
Finite Impactor Adaptive Solar Hand Cannon. Iron Banner match reward Returning, not new.

Bungie also announced weapon refreshes for Crucible, Solo, Fireteam, and Pinnacle Ops, as well as new weapons in the Epic Desert Perpetual raid refresh. Its launch post does not name every weapon in those activity pools, so there is no official exhaustive list to add here. Bungie’s Ash & Iron launch blog gives the broader activity announcements.

Where does Everburning Glitz drop?

Everburning Glitz entered the Trials of Osiris pool with Ash & Iron. Bungie’s September 11, 2025 update featured it for the week of September 11 and identified it as a new Kinetic Rapid-Fire Auto Rifle. The same post calls Burden of Guilt a reprised Trials weapon, rather than a new addition. Bungie’s September 11, 2025 This Week in Destiny is the source for those pool details.

How do you get the Submersion Crossbow?

Bungie associated Submersion with Ash & Iron seasonal events and Call to Arms. In its September 11, 2025 post, Bungie said the Crossbow had a low chance to drop from any Portal activity at that time. That is a dated description, not a guaranteed current drop rate or confirmation that the source remains unchanged. The launch post also described a small chance to receive a new Crossbow during events. The September 11 update and the launch blog provide those acquisition notes.

How do you get Wolfsbane in Destiny 2?

Wolfsbane is the Exotic Axe reward tied to the Heliostat Exotic Mission. Bungie initially announced the mission for October 7, 2025, without naming the weapon; its October 2, 2025 update identified the reward as Wolfsbane. The description says Quicksilver Nanites build on hits and kills, and an overclock changes the weapon’s Heavy attack. Bungie’s October 2, 2025 update names the Axe.

Which Iron Banner weapons were new?

Bungie’s September 11, 2025 post names Phoneutria Fera, a Spread Shot Hand Cannon, and Ribbontail, a Trace Rifle, among Iron Banner post-match rewards. It also lists Finite Impactor, an Adaptive Solar Hand Cannon, as a returning match reward. The post does not provide a full perk or stat breakdown for Phoneutria Fera or Ribbontail. Iron Banner was announced for the week of September 16, 2025. The Iron Banner reward announcement lists these items.

What else did Ash & Iron add to weapon pools?

The launch blog announced new weapons for Crucible and Solo, Fireteam, and Pinnacle Ops, alongside new raid weapons in the Epic Desert Perpetual refresh. The Epic raid version was scheduled for September 27, 2025. Those announcements establish that the refreshes included additional weapons, but not their complete names or individual acquisition details. Player-made lists should not be mistaken for Bungie’s official full inventory when the launch post does not enumerate it.

How to read the dates and availability now

The activity dates above are historical launch announcements: Ash & Iron launched September 9, 2025; Iron Banner was announced for the week of September 16; Epic Desert Perpetual was scheduled for September 27; and Heliostat was announced for October 7. They establish the original rollout, not that each event or acquisition method is available today.

For current context, Bungie announced on May 21, 2026 that the June 9, 2026 release would be Destiny 2’s final live-service content update, while saying the game would remain playable. The Ash & Iron roundup is therefore historical update coverage, not a promise of future live-service additions. Bungie’s May 21, 2026 announcement sets out that plan.
