Destiny 2: Into the Light brought back 12 weapons as the BRAVE Arsenal, with refreshed perk pools and new art. The original limited-edition versions were time-limited, but Bungie later said the full Arsenal had returned to Onslaught rewards. Here’s the complete roster, what changed, and what Bungie’s dated availability updates establish.

What are the 12 BRAVE weapons in Destiny 2?

Bungie’s March 27, 2024 Dev Insight: BRAVE Arsenal names these twelve weapons:

Weapon Weapon type What Bungie highlighted
Forbearance Wave Frame grenade launcher Updated perk options for PvE add-clear.
Succession Sniper rifle Reconstruction and Vorpal Weapon as a notable combination.
Falling Guillotine Vortex Frame sword A legendary sword descended from the original Destiny’s Dark Drinker; Bungie named Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade as a combination.
The Recluse Submachine gun Returned with random rolls and a rebalanced Master of Arms perk.
The Mountaintop Breech grenade launcher Its rebuilt Micro-Missile functionality is intrinsic; Bungie said the redesign reduced self-damage and increased physics impulse.
Hammerhead Machine gun Black Armory styling; Bungie highlighted Rampage and Killing Tally for PvE.
Blast Furnace Aggressive Burst pulse rifle Four-burst firing with a rebuilt perk pool.
Edge Transit Heavy grenade launcher Bungie referenced its early Forsaken reputation for dropping often and highlighted damage-perk combinations.
Luna’s Howl Precision Frame hand cannon The BRAVE version fires at 140 RPM and has a redesigned Magnificent Howl perk.
Midnight Coup Hand cannon A Year 1 weapon with new perk options; Bungie gave Firefly and Kinetic Tremors as a PvE example.
Hung Jury SR4 Scout rifle First appeared in the original Destiny’s The Taken King and had returned to Destiny 2 before Into the Light.
Elsie’s Rifle Void pulse rifle Known as The Stranger’s Rifle in the original Destiny.

The roster mixes weapons from Destiny 2 with references to the original game: Elsie’s Rifle and Hung Jury SR4 both have that earlier history, while Falling Guillotine draws on Dark Drinker.

What changed in the Into the Light versions?

Bungie says the BRAVE versions received updated perk pools, and many got random rolls for the first time. It also refreshed the art across the set and gave the weapons the Indominability origin trait. Bungie emphasized that the new perk pools applied specifically to the Into the Light versions, not automatically to other versions of those weapons obtainable in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 - PlayStation 4 Standard Edition
  • From the makers of the acclaimed hit game Destiny, comes the much-anticipated sequel
  • An action shooter that takes you on an epic journey across the solar system
  • Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion
  • To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home

Some changes went beyond a new selection of perks. The Mountaintop’s Micro-Missile became an intrinsic perk with revised behavior, and The Recluse’s Master of Arms was rebalanced. Luna’s Howl’s Magnificent Howl was redesigned, too. Those are changes Bungie described at the 2024 launch; they should not be treated as a current ranking of weapons in the game’s later sandbox.

Which BRAVE weapons should you chase?

There is no universal best pick: the right weapon depends on whether you play PvE or PvP, what weapon class you prefer, and whether you need add-clear, damage, consistency, range, or utility. Bungie’s 2024 article offers examples rather than a current, independently tested meta ranking.

  • Online only and requires a PlayStation Plus membership.
  • An incredible story set within a newly-imagined, always-connected universe filled with action and adventure.
  • Create your character, forge your legend by defeating powerful foes, and earn unique and customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.
  • Unprecedented variety of FPS gameplay that redefines the genre and breaks traditional conventions of story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.
  • For PvE add-clear: Bungie specifically pointed to Forbearance’s role and to Hammerhead with Rampage and Killing Tally.
  • For damage-focused rolls: Bungie called out Succession with Reconstruction and Vorpal Weapon, and cited damage-perk options on Edge Transit.
  • For a sword option: Falling Guillotine’s cited pairing is Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade.
  • For a hand cannon PvE example: Bungie named Firefly and Kinetic Tremors on Midnight Coup.
  • For distinctive weapon behavior: The Mountaintop’s intrinsic Micro-Missile design is a major part of its identity; The Recluse’s returning Master of Arms was rebalanced.

These pairings are Bungie’s examples from March 2024, not a guarantee that they are the best rolls in the current sandbox. Choose around your activity and build rather than treating the list as a universal tier ranking.

How did players get the weapons during Into the Light?

Into the Light launched on April 9, 2024. Bungie described Onslaught as a three-player matchmade, wave-based defense activity tied to BRAVE weapon rewards. Players could also visit the Hall of Champions and complete Arcite-99’s weapon quests. The official Destiny 2: Into The Light help page outlines the activity and its systems.

In its March 29, 2024 BRAVE Arsenal Rollout Update, Bungie said Arcite quests guaranteed a curated limited-edition version of each weapon. Attuning to a weapon increased the chance that it would drop from Onslaught chests. The rollout update also moved the schedule so every weapon was available by April 30, rather than May 21.

Are the Into the Light weapons still available?

Bungie’s availability statements changed over time, so distinguish the limited-edition versions from the base BRAVE weapons:

  • Limited-edition variants: Bungie’s March 27, 2024 article said these would no longer be available after June 3, 2024.
  • Base weapons after the event: In the March 29, 2024 rollout update, Bungie said all twelve base BRAVE weapons would remain farmable after Into the Light concluded.
  • Later Onslaught rewards: Bungie’s May 28, 2026 Dev Insights – Return of the Director said the full BRAVE Arsenal had been reintroduced to Onslaught rewards in tiers, with drops every ten waves alongside Pinnacle Ops rewards.

The May 2026 statement is the latest dated status here; reward availability can change, so consult Bungie’s current game information if you need confirmation for a particular session. The cited updates do not establish exact current drop odds.
