It added Onslaught, the Hall of Champions and its BRAVE weapon rewards, reprised Exotic missions, a raid-boss gauntlet, and three Crucible maps. Bungie’s 2024 plan made some rewards temporary, but said several activities and their core rewards would remain after the event. The dates below describe that announced plan, not a check of what is obtainable in the live game today.
What was Destiny 2: Into the Light?
Into the Light was a two-month update released on April 9, 2024. Its additions ranged from a new wave-defense activity to returning missions and quality-of-life changes. Bungie opened the update to all players; it was not limited to owners of a particular expansion.

The most important distinction for anyone looking back is between content Bungie said would persist and event-specific reward paths that had a June 3, 2024 deadline. That distinction applied even within the BRAVE Arsenal: Bungie said the base weapons would remain farmable, while limited-edition variants had a deadline.
What was new in Into the Light?
Onslaught: three-player wave defense
Onslaught was a matchmade, three-player PvE activity built around protecting the Vanguard’s Advanced Defense Unit from progressively harder enemy waves. Players collected resources and used them to upgrade defenses. Bungie described it as anti-siege warfare against enemies emboldened by the Witness.

The Hall of Champions and the BRAVE Arsenal
The Hall of Champions was a new social space where Lord Shaxx and Arcite 99-40 offered quests and rewards. Its BRAVE Arsenal featured 12 reissued weapons, each with random rolls and a new Origin Trait. Each weapon had a standard version and a limited-edition version.
Arcite’s weapon-attunement quests increased the chance of receiving the selected weapon from reward sources during the event. Bungie said that completing Arcite’s quests guaranteed a curated limited-edition version of each weapon. The Hall also connected players to armor rewards and the Superblack shader.

Pantheon: a raid-boss gauntlet

What stayed after Into the Light, and what was time-limited?
Bungie’s April 18, 2024 plan drew a clear line between event rewards and content it intended to keep available. These are historical announcements; they do not establish current acquisition methods or the live game’s present-day playlist structure.
| Content or reward | Bungie’s announced 2024 availability | What the distinction meant |
|---|---|---|
| Pantheon and its emblems | April 30 to June 3, 2024 | The mode and its rewards were time-limited. |
| Godslayer and Brave titles | Limited-time during the event | These titles marked event accomplishments. |
| Limited-edition BRAVE weapon variants | Through June 3, 2024 | Separate from the base BRAVE weapons Bungie said would remain farmable. |
| Hall of Champions and its original reward systems | Bungie said the Hall and associated content would no longer be available after June 3, 2024 | This included Arcite’s quests, armor chests, and weapon attunement; the event’s original deterministic reward path was not promised to continue. |
| Onslaught and base BRAVE weapon rewards | Planned to move to a dedicated Vanguard Ops playlist with The Final Shape | Bungie said the activity and base weapon rewards would continue beyond the event. |
| The Whisper and Zero Hour | Planned to move to the Legends tab after June 3, 2024 | Bungie said the missions and their Exotic rewards would remain earnable. |
| Eventide Labs, Cirrus Plaza, and Dissonance | Planned to remain after the event | The maps were not part of the limited-time window. |
| Parade armor and shaders | Bungie said these would remain earnable after June 3, 2024 | Bungie said further acquisition details would follow; the announcement did not specify a post-event method. |
For the Hall’s deadline, Bungie stated: “The Hall of Champions and associated content, such as the Arcite 99-40 quests, armor chests, and weapon attunement, will no longer be available after June 3.” The distinction is useful when interpreting the BRAVE weapon promise: the base weapons’ continued farmability did not mean the Hall, attunement, or guaranteed limited-edition reward path would remain.

- For repeatable wave combat and BRAVE drops: Onslaught paired escalating fights with defensive upgrades and weapon rewards.
- For craftable Exotic weapons: The Whisper and Zero Hour were mission-based routes to craftable Whisper of the Worm and Outbreak Perfected.
- For a raid-boss challenge: Pantheon was the event’s timed gauntlet, with event titles and emblems.
- For Crucible: Eventide Labs, Cirrus Plaza, and Dissonance added three maps for 3v3 modes.
If choosing what to pursue during the 2024 window, the practical priority was the limited-time set: Pantheon and its rewards, the event titles, the Hall’s original reward systems, and limited-edition BRAVE variants. Bungie’s plan said Onslaught, base BRAVE weapons, both Exotic missions, and the maps would continue beyond that window.
