Bungie support said on March 13, 2025 that it would remain available until the next expansion, and Bungie later dated The Final Shape period through July 14, 2025. Bungie’s published information does not confirm a renewed earning window, so check the title in your own Triumphs screen before planning a grind.
Which “Legend” are you looking for?
Destiny 2 uses similar names for separate things. The Legend title is the expansion-era title discussed in Bungie support. Become Legend is the name of the campaign’s harder difficulty. Transcendent is the title granted for completing The Final Shape Triumph seal. These are not interchangeable.

The available dates point to a closed window, but do not establish what an individual account currently sees. Bungie support said the title remained available until the next expansion. Bungie later listed The Final Shape period as June 4, 2024–July 14, 2025. Because that period has passed, do not assume the title can still be earned; the cited information does not document an exception or reopened window.

Did owning The Final Shape matter?
Historically, yes: Bungie support said owning The Final Shape was required for the Legend title. The same reply distinguished the related armor sets, which did not require expansion ownership. That ownership statement describes the access terms Bungie gave in March 2025; it does not by itself establish that the title remains earnable now.

Is “Become Legend” the title requirement?
Do not infer that completing the campaign on Become Legend automatically earns the Legend title. Bungie describes Become Legend as the harder campaign option, not as the title’s full objective list.

What Bungie’s current content notice means
Bungie’s June 2026 support update says The Final Shape will no longer receive planned live-service content updates following Update 9.7.0 on June 9, 2026. Bungie allows that future hotfixes may still be made to support game health and stability. This makes a new planned earning window less likely, but the notice does not itself resolve what the Legend seal currently shows for every player.
