League of Legends’ first season of 2025 brought Noxus to Summoner’s Rift through themed visuals and new gameplay features, including Atakhan and Feats of Strength. Those mechanics are no longer part of the game: Riot removed Atakhan, Blood Roses, and Feats of Strength in Patch 26.1.
What was the Noxus season in League of Legends?
Riot made Noxus the theme of Season One in 2025, extending it beyond the client’s opening screen. The season’s presentation, gameplay, events, modes, and rewards were all intended to contribute to a broader seasonal experience. Riot also described a refreshed client and an Activity Center as parts of its 2025 season plans. Riot’s overview of seasons in 2025 explains that approach.

Riot’s stated aim was to make each season’s thematic universe more immersive while giving players new ways to demonstrate mastery. The Noxus season’s visual changes and gameplay additions were two parts of that effort, not a permanent redesign of the game.
What changed on Summoner’s Rift?
Summoner’s Rift received Noxian details on minions, turrets, and shopkeepers. Some areas took on a Noxus Prime look, including lanes, red buff areas, and bases, while the blue buff and river kept their forest visuals. Riot said it wanted the theme to be noticeable without compromising competitive integrity or the map’s familiar layout. The visual details were described in Riot’s Season One gameplay preview.

Which gameplay features defined Season One?
Atakhan
Riot introduced Atakhan as an Epic Monster. The preview said he would spawn at 20:00, with his location determined by champion damage and kills by 14 minutes. These details describe the announced Season One mechanic, not a feature currently available in the game.

Riot’s 2025 overview described an always-active Battle Pass with free and paid tracks, with seasonal themes extending to rewards. The overview projected 12 skins from the free pass, or 15 including Victorious skins, for the coming year; that was a 2024 announcement about a future plan, not a statement of current rewards or an enduring guarantee. Costs, specific reward details, and availability should likewise be treated as historical 2025 descriptions.

Is Atakhan still in League of Legends?
No. Riot’s Patch 26.1 notes say Atakhan, Blood Roses, and Feats of Strength were removed. Riot explained that the three features added complexity to Summoner’s Rift without enough value, and were removed to make room for new features. The notes also describe separate 2026 changes to epic-monster resistance; those changes are not measurements of the 2025 season.
