Trials of Osiris is Destiny 2’s weekend competitive mode. To enter, Bungie’s June 2026 support guide says you need SMS verification and ownership of The Edge of Fate, Renegades, or Destiny 2: The Collection; a platform subscription may also be required for matchmade play. Since Trials returned on June 12, 2026, all Trials weapons have been available to drop each weekend, alongside a three-map format and inventory attunement for a chosen reward.
When is Trials of Osiris available?
Bungie says Trials is available on weekends except when Iron Banner is active. Its May 2026 playlist overview describes the window as Friday through weekly reset on eligible weekends. Check the current in-game activity card or a Bungie announcement for the exact start and end times; the schedule can vary when Iron Banner is in the playlist.
Bungie also says Destiny 2 has no planned live-service content updates after Update 9.7.0, released June 9, 2026, while reserving the possibility of stability and health hotfixes. For that reason, confirm the activity is live in-game rather than relying on an old weekly schedule. Bungie’s June 11, 2026 announcement and its Update 9.7.0 support guide provide the dated context.

How do you unlock and enter Trials?
Bungie’s June 2026 support guide lists these access requirements:
Recommended Free Tools
- Complete SMS verification for your account.
- Own The Edge of Fate, Renegades, or Destiny 2: The Collection.
- Have a platform subscription if your platform requires one for matchmade playlists.
When the playlist is active, open the Crucible activity screen and select Trials of Osiris. Read the activity card before queuing: its current requirements and details take precedence over older guides. Bungie’s support page still displays a Power 1520+ requirement and older passage and reward details, but those are not reliable current rules in light of later changes. Do not treat that Power threshold or an old passage chart as definitive without confirmation in the current game.

What changed in the 2026 return?
Trials returned on June 12, 2026 with a revised weekend structure. Bungie announced three maps each weekend, access to all Trials weapons as weekend drops, inventory attunement to improve the chance of receiving a chosen reward, and a new armor set. Bungie summarized the map change this way: “Instead of a map and just one featured weapon, players will be facing each other on three maps each weekend.”
Attunement improves the chance of the selected reward; it does not guarantee a drop. Bungie’s announcement confirms the feature but does not establish exact odds. For the currently available rewards and attunement options, use the activity and inventory screens in-game. Read Bungie’s June 11, 2026 announcement.

How do maps and matchmaking work?
Bungie’s May 29, 2026 playlist overview describes the matchmaking as “Passage Based Matchmaking.” It also says players select one map from each of three map pools. The selected pools can overlap, so the format does not guarantee three different maps in every weekend lineup. Check the current activity card to see the actual maps before you play.
The May overview explains the selection system, not a permanent map rotation. Do not assume a map from a previous weekend is still available, or that an announced pool means every map in it will appear. Bungie’s May 29, 2026 playlist announcement has the dated matchmaking and map-pool description.

What rewards can you get from Trials?
The confirmed 2026 reward changes are the weekend availability of all Trials weapons, inventory attunement to increase the chance of a chosen reward, and a new armor set. These give players options beyond waiting for one featured weapon, but Bungie’s 2026 announcements do not establish the full current passage roster, exact reward thresholds, or all Lighthouse reward rules.
Older Bungie help material discusses Saint-14, reputation, passages, and Lighthouse rewards, but its specific passage and threshold details may no longer match the redesigned activity. Check the current in-game reward and passage descriptions before planning a flawless run or expecting a particular reward. The evidence-backed reward update is in Bungie’s June 2026 announcement; older details on the support page should be treated cautiously.
