Episode: Revenant arrived on October 8, 2024. Its major dungeon release was Vesper’s Host, which launched three days later. In January 2025, Act III brought the episode’s story to a conclusion and added the Kell’s Fall Exotic mission and Slayer’s Fang Exotic shotgun.

When did Vesper’s Host come out?
Vesper’s Host launched October 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM PT. Bungie announced the timing in its September 12, 2024, This Week in Destiny post, which described the dungeon as the first to feature Contest Mode.
How did Vesper’s Host Contest Mode work?
Bungie’s launch announcement set a 48-hour Contest Mode period. Normal Mode would open after the first three teams cleared the dungeon. Those were launch-race rules, not a guide to current access or difficulty settings.

Bungie outlined the rules and named Vesper’s Host in its September 26, 2024, This Week in Destiny post. Because these details describe the 2024 race, check the game’s current requirements before planning a run.
How do you get Icebreaker in Destiny 2?
Bungie’s January 2025 Update 8.1.5.1 notes say the studio fixed an issue where Icebreaker’s Catalyst was not always awarded to players who died during a Vesper’s Host run. This confirms a connection between the weapon’s Catalyst and the dungeon reward experience. The note does not explain a guaranteed weapon drop in ordinary play or establish later acquisition odds, so it should not be treated as a complete current method for obtaining Icebreaker.

What is Revenant’s status now?
Revenant is a completed 2024–25 episode, not a newly released season of content. Bungie’s June 2026 support guide says planned live-service content updates ended with Update 9.7.0 on June 9, 2026. It says content available as of then would remain available, while allowing that Bungie may still issue hotfixes for game health and stability.
