Devolver Direct 2024, held in June during Summer Game Fest, featured six games. Its two new reveals were Possessor(s), a side-scrolling action game from Heart Machine, and Tenjutsu, a melee-focused action roguelite from Deepnight Games. The showcase also highlighted an update, an expansion and two other games.
What were the two new games?
Possessor(s)
Made by Heart Machine, the studio behind Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash, Possessor(s) is a fast-paced side-scrolling action game. Its story follows Luca and Rehm, a host and her unwilling counterpart, as they explore a quarantined city devastated by an interdimensional catastrophe. Devolver described combat inspired by platform fighters and a dangerous, interconnected world. Devolver’s game page preserves the original announcement wording, “Coming to PC & Consoles in 2025”; that was a window announced in 2024, not a current release status.

Tenjutsu
Tenjutsu is a combat-focused action roguelite by Deepnight Games, created by Sébastien Benard. The player is a renegade yakuza fighting her former associates in Secret Garden City. Devolver’s game description says players can shape their route by unlocking weapons, combat moves and areas, while time spent preparing lets enemies grow stronger.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIn a June 7, 2024 Steam announcement, Benard described the project as a combat roguelite that grew from a game jam and the ashes of Dead Cells. He outlined fast melee encounters against multiple enemies, weapons, loot and upgrades, and four bosses that can be fought in different orders. Which bosses are defeated affects the remaining city and later fights. These are the creator’s descriptions, not independent gameplay findings. The showcase page’s “Coming to PC & Consoles in 202X” was deliberately broad historical wording, not a dated release announcement.

What else appeared in the showcase?
A June 7, 2024 recap by Game Informer listed six showcase items. Alongside the two new reveals, the presentation included:
- Cult of the Lamb: Unholy Alliance, an update adding co-op, quests, gear and other items. Devolver’s half-year report says it rolled out on August 12, 2024.
- The Talos Principle II: Road to Elysium, a three-chapter expansion: Orpheus Ascending, Isle of the Blessed and Into the Abyss, as described by Devolver.
- Anger Foot and The Crush House, which the 2024 recap listed with then-upcoming PC dates of July 11 and August 9, 2024, respectively. Those dates have passed and should not be read as upcoming release dates.
What is known about release status?
The original event page’s 2025 and 202X wording for Possessor(s) and Tenjutsu records what Devolver announced at the time; it should not be used to infer present availability. The Game Informer recap currently lists Possessor(s) for PS5 and PC with a November 11, 2025 date, and Switch 2 with an April 29, 2026 date. It lists Tenjutsu for PC with its date marked TBA. These are secondary listing details and can change; the sources cited here do not establish an official release date for Tenjutsu.
