Vessel of Hatred: Spiritborn buffs

Forgotten Wisdom Nightmare Dungeon affix
- Experience Motes split their experience among party members.
- The total number of Motes that can spawn increased, while their drop frequency was slightly reduced.
- Each Mote grants more experience.

Bug fixes and rollout
Fixes listed in the notes
Blizzard grouped fixes under seasonal quests and systems, Nightmare Dungeons, gameplay, user interface and experience, and miscellaneous issues. Examples include a Spiritborn cache reward that Spiritborn could not open, problems involving Horadric Gateways and Strongrooms, dungeon objectives that could prevent progression, incorrect item, skill, or reward behavior, and a local co-op skill-assignment issue. The miscellaneous section also says there were “Various stability, performance, visual, and UI improvements.” The notes give no measured performance results or quantified gains.

Temporary PC rollback and relaunch
The rollout briefly changed after the July 15 release. On the Blizzard forum, the account Marcoose said the team was rolling PC clients back from 2.3.1 to 2.3.0 while investigating crashes. A later update said the team was working to address the issue and players might see updates that day. At 12:22 a.m. on July 16, the forum stated that patch 2.3.1 was live again for all platforms. This was a temporary PC rollback followed by a relaunch, not a permanent PC exclusion; the timeline is recorded in the official forum thread.

The change log establishes which listed values and systems were adjusted in version 2.3.1. It does not provide comparative testing that ranks classes, skills, or endgame builds, so a larger percentage increase alone does not show that a build became stronger overall than another. For a patch-by-patch build assessment, factors beyond these listed changes would need to be evaluated separately.
