Diablo IV’s Paladin free trial and DOOM: The Dark Ages collaboration were announced together in March 2026, while a separate Warlock trial followed in June. Both class trials have ended: the Paladin was playable through level 25 from March 11–18, and the Warlock through level 30 from June 30–July 7. The DOOM collaboration mixed earnable Reliquary rewards with cosmetics sold separately in the in-game shop.
How did the Paladin trial work?
Blizzard offered a free Paladin trial from March 11 to March 18, 2026, starting at 10 a.m. PT. It was available on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, and trial characters could progress up to level 25. Blizzard said players who purchased Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred could continue that progress on the same character. The trial period has passed.

How did the DOOM cosmetics work?
The March Season of Slaughter update also introduced a DOOM: The Dark Ages collaboration. Players could earn themed items and other rewards through an event Reliquary. Blizzard named the Shield Saw cosmetic skin, Slayer’s Flail, and Cyberdemon Head back trophy among the event rewards.

- Diablo IV is the next-gen action RPG experience with endless evil to slaughter, countless abilities to master, nightmarish Dungeons, and legendary loot.
- Embark on the campaign solo or with friends, meeting memorable characters through beautifully dark settings and a gripping story, or explore an expansive end game and shared world where players can meet in towns to trade, team up to battle World Bosses, or descend into PVP zones to test their skills against other players - no lobbies necessary - with cross-play and cross-progression on all available platforms.
The collaboration also included DOOM-themed cosmetics sold separately in Diablo IV’s in-game shop. The announcement distinguishes shop items from Reliquary rewards, so it does not support treating every collaboration cosmetic as free or earnable through play. Cosmetic availability can change; check the in-game shop and event listings for current status rather than assuming a past item is still obtainable. Blizzard’s Season of Slaughter announcement describes the event and shop categories.
When was the Warlock trial?
Blizzard announced a separate Warlock trial in its June 2026 Season of Death Awakening update. It ran from June 30 through July 7, 2026, on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, with trial progression available up to level 30. The window has ended. Blizzard said purchasing Lord of Hatred let players carry the trial character onward.

The Warlock announcement also connected continued class access and some Warlock-themed cosmetics to Lord of Hatred purchases. Specific rewards can have edition or expansion conditions, so check Blizzard’s stated offer terms before assuming a particular purchase includes a particular cosmetic. | Class | Trial dates | Maximum trial level | Platforms | What Blizzard said preserved continued play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paladin | March 11–18, 2026; began at 10 a.m. PT | 25 | Battle.net, Xbox, PlayStation | Purchasing Lord of Hatred allowed progress to continue on the same character. |
| Warlock | June 30–July 7, 2026 | 30 | Battle.net, Xbox, PlayStation | Blizzard said purchasing Lord of Hatred allowed the character to continue. |
These are historical trial windows, not currently available trials. Blizzard’s purchase announcement says Lord of Hatred requires the Diablo IV base game, and that an internet connection and Battle.net account are required to play. See Blizzard’s expansion purchase details.
