Lord of Hatred is Diablo IV’s second expansion, and it has already launched. It adds two classes—Paladin and Warlock—and brings back the Horadric Cube as an in-game crafting station. Its campaign follows the confrontation with Mephisto in Skovos, an ancient region whose capital is Temis.

When did Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred launch?

Blizzard’s official launch overview says rollout began on April 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. PDT. A separate Blizzard purchase announcement lists April 28, 2026, as the expansion’s availability date. Those statements use different launch framing, so the dates should not be collapsed into one: one is the stated rollout time and the other is the listed availability date. Blizzard’s launch overview and purchase announcement give the respective details.

What are the two new classes in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred?

The expansion’s two classes are Paladin and Warlock. Blizzard’s pre-purchase announcement described Paladin access for qualifying buyers before launch and said a second class would arrive at launch; its launch overview identifies that class as Warlock. Blizzard’s purchase announcement and launch overview describe the rollout.

Paladin

Blizzard describes Paladins as trained with sword and shield and able to wield the Light. The official overview frames the class as a defender of the downtrodden; it does not, in the material cited here, establish detailed skill builds or current balance information.

Warlock

Warlock is presented as a dark counterpart to Paladin, wielding the minions of Hell. That is the supported high-level description; specific abilities and optimal builds are not established by Blizzard’s launch overview.

What does the Horadric Cube do in Diablo 4?

The Horadric Cube returns as a crafting station discovered during the expansion campaign. After unlocking it, players can use it in Temis to transmute, customize, and create equipment and other items. Blizzard lists uses that include adding, removing, or rerolling affixes; rerolling items of the same quality; upgrading gear; crafting Unique Charms; and transforming runes. It can also be used with consumables and socketable items. Most recipes require materials gathered through game activities. Blizzard’s launch overview outlines the Cube and its functions.

What else is included in the expansion?

The campaign centers on a final confrontation with Mephisto in Skovos, an ancient region whose capital is Temis. Blizzard also lists several features beyond the new classes and Cube:

  • War Plans: a way to chain selected endgame activities.
  • Echoing Hatred: another feature listed in the official launch overview.
  • Fishing: a new activity named by Blizzard.
  • Talisman system: an expansion feature; the Cube can also create Talisman objects.

The official overview names these features but does not provide enough detail here to assess their full systems or compare their depth.
