A former Rocksteady employee reportedly disputed claims that Batman: Arkham Asylum was being remade, but that is not the same as an official confirmation from Warner Bros. or Rocksteady that no project exists. The report dates to November 12, 2024, and the remake’s current status remains unverified.
What did Deel Walker say about the remake rumour?
In a report published November 12, 2024, ixbt.games said Deel Walker, described as a former Rocksteady employee, posted on X that rumours of an Arkham Asylum remake were untrue. The report says Walker later removed the post and commented that he did not want to spend more time replying to messages from unreliable sources, adding that people could believe what they wanted. ixbt.games credited TheGamer for its account; the original posts were not independently verified, so this is secondary reporting rather than a confirmed, verbatim English quotation from Walker. Read the ixbt.games report.
Does that mean the remake was officially canceled?
No official Warner Bros. or Rocksteady announcement confirming or canceling a remake appears in the reporting cited here. Walker’s reported response is evidence that he disputed the rumour, not proof of the publisher’s or studio’s plans. Because the report is from 2024 and there is no current official status statement established here, whether a new remake is in development remains unverified.
How is a remake different from the existing remaster?
A remake rebuilds a game rather than simply updating the presentation of the existing release. The distinction matters because Batman: Return to Arkham is a 2016 collection of remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. That collection is an existing remaster, not evidence that a separate remake has been announced. Official Xbox Magazine’s article on Return to Arkham describes the collection.
