The report called the material unofficial and urged caution; it did not establish that SEGA had confirmed the character or that the image was authentic.
What did the reported leak show?
Insider Gaming reported that a Reddit user had found a pre-order case in New Zealand whose back appeared to list NiGHTS among free DLC characters. The story also mentioned a NiGHTS-inspired vehicle shown in a then-recent TailsTube episode, but that detail is not independent verification of the case image. Read the September 6, 2025 report.

The image’s provenance and authenticity were not established in the reporting reviewed here. It is therefore more accurate to call this an unofficial leak claim than a confirmed SEGA reveal.
Is NiGHTS coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds?
A later Sonic Stadium archive/search-result entry lists NiGHTS among characters announced for the game, which is subsequent secondary coverage. The reviewed material did not include a direct SEGA announcement naming NiGHTS, so the original box-image claim and the later roster listing should not be treated as the same level of confirmation.
