Monster Summer: Escape was a Roblox film tie-in created by Soma Games with Pastime Pictures. It launched on September 13, 2024, ahead of the film’s October 4 premiere, as an interactive way to explore the movie’s world. The launch details below describe the experience as reported in 2024; they do not establish whether it is still playable today.
What was Monster Summer: Escape?
Monster Summer: Escape was a Roblox experience developed by Soma Games in partnership with Pastime Pictures. Soma Games described it as a lead-up to the film Monster Summer, extending the movie’s story world into an interactive setting. The studio characterizes the film as a spooky summer story set in 1990s Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts; that is the studio’s description of the premise, not an independent review.
Soma Games says the team brought skills and some code from an earlier Roblox experience to the project. The film’s producers, Dan McDonough and John Blanford, described the goal as giving fans another way to engage with the story and continue the adventure beyond the screen.
When did the Roblox experience launch?
GamesBeat reported on September 13, 2024, that Monster Summer: Escape launched “today” on Roblox. The report said the film was scheduled to premiere on October 4, 2024; Soma Games’ project page also refers to the movie’s October 4 launch. The game was therefore a pre-release tie-in, not a new 2026 launch.
