Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If you join a friend’s LEGO Fortnite world and appear far from the host, the title refers to a multiplayer spawn bug reported in December 2023. At the time, Epic was reportedly working on a fix but had given no release estimate. The official material available now does not confirm whether that specific bug was later fixed, so the old report is not proof that it is still active—or that a fix shipped.
What the reported LEGO Fortnite spawn bug did
The issue affected players joining a friend’s world: instead of appearing near the world owner, a joining player could spawn far away. PiunikaWeb described the problem on December 8, 2023, and reported that Epic had acknowledged it and was developing a fix, with no ETA. Read the December 8, 2023 report.
Did Epic eventually fix it?
The available official sources do not establish whether Epic eventually fixed this particular multiplayer join bug. Epic’s current general troubleshooting article addresses world-selection and crash problems, while the LEGO Fortnite Odyssey 42.30 update notes reviewed list other fixes but do not mention this historical spawn issue. That absence does not prove the bug remains or that it was never fixed.
Do not confuse it with later, separate island issues. Epic’s Communities post about the NINJAGO island said mainland spawning had been restored and also discussed investigation of a missing Monastery map icon; those matters do not confirm the status of the 2023 bug where players joining a friend’s world spawned far from the host. What to try if you encounter it now
Check whether it is a live issue
Check Epic’s Fortnite Live Issues and Bugs page and its current LEGO Fortnite status and community channels for issue-specific updates. These are the appropriate places to look for current confirmation; a 2023 report cannot establish today’s status.
Treat the old community workarounds as unverified
The 2023 report mentioned restarting the game repeatedly and intentionally dying two or three times as player-suggested workarounds. It cautioned that they might not work. They were not presented as official fixes, so there is no guarantee either will resolve a spawn-distance problem.

Use Epic’s general support steps only for the problems they cover
Epic’s support article gives troubleshooting steps for world-selection and crash errors, not a confirmed remedy for this specific spawn symptom. If you are also experiencing those covered problems, follow the article’s guidance: check server status, restart Fortnite, restart your PC or console, verify game files on PC, consult the console maker’s troubleshooting steps, reinstall Fortnite, and submit a support ticket if the issue persists.
