Before Escape from Tarkov’s 1.0 launch in November 2025, Battlestate Games head Nikita Buyanov floated a possible reset of the PvE Flea Market—but did not announce that it would happen. Later reporting on PvE updates still does not confirm that the marketplace was wiped.
What change did Battlestate Games propose?
In an interview with streamer Pestily, the discussion turned to PvE players’ accumulated goods and their effect on the mode’s economy. Buyanov responded: “We will see. Maybe we will wipe the Flea Market, for example.” He added: “Nobody said that we can’t do that. We can wipe the Flea Market, and nobody will say anything to us, because the Flea Market is just a sub-system that we can wipe.” Insider Gaming reported the exchange on November 13, 2025.
Those remarks describe an option, not a settled plan. The stated rationale was to balance an economy shaped by accumulated PvE inventory; the report supplied no measurement of how much inventory existed or how severely it affected prices or access to goods.
Did the PvE Flea Market reset happen?
The available later reporting does not establish that it did. A 4Gamer report dated October 6, 2026 covers update 1.2.0.0 and describes several PvE changes, but does not say that the Flea Market proposal was implemented. It is therefore not possible to treat the earlier conditional comment as confirmation of a wipe.

4Gamer reports that version 1.2.0.0 added PvE prestige and revised PMC bot behavior, including relationships, map movement, and equipment appropriate to their level. It also reports less frequent lag, a Customs extraction route, and Interchange loot changes. These are updates reported by 4Gamer; its article does not settle the status of the marketplace proposal.
How is a Flea Market wipe different from a seasonal reset?
Battlestate Games’ Steam announcement for patch 1.1.0.0 distinguishes Seasonal Character profiles from PvP Zone and PvE Zone profiles. The announcement says Seasonal Character progression resets every four to six months. That scheduled reset is not evidence that persistent PvE profiles—or the PvE Flea Market—are automatically wiped.

Likewise, “PvE platform” in the original story means Tarkov’s PvE mode and its economy, not a hardware platform. An older official community post described PvE as running on separate network infrastructure, with players on the company’s servers in a closed mode; that is a historical description, not a current technical specification.

Buyanov said Battlestate could wipe the Flea Market because it is a subsystem, while leaving open whether the studio would choose to do so. Later reports confirm other PvE changes, not this one. Unless Battlestate announces a marketplace reset directly, the proposal should be treated as unresolved rather than as a scheduled or completed wipe.
