Yes—the ending of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 strongly implies that Rex had a child with Pyra, Mythra, and Nia. It conveys that through a family photograph, not through a scene of the pregnancies or dialogue that explicitly confirms them.
What the Xenoblade 3 ending photograph shows
Near the end of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, a photograph shows Rex standing behind Pyra, Mythra, and Nia. Each of the three is holding a child. The image is the basis for the common reading that Rex is the father of all three children. GamesRadar describes the photograph and draws that implication in its report on the ending and later character reveals.

That is strong visual implication, not explicit pregnancy dialogue: the ending does not show how or when the pregnancies happened, and the photograph alone does not establish marriage, conception circumstances, or where the family lives.
What later story material adds
Glimmer and Future Redeemed
Nintendo describes Future Redeemed as an additional story scenario for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Its official Expansion Pass page identifies Glimmer as a character in the scenario and Rex as a returning character. That confirms their presence in the expansion context, but the page itself does not state Glimmer’s parentage.

- Live to fight. Fight to live. Now with enhancements for the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
Shimmer and Mythra’s child
A September 9, 2026 report about a Nintendo Direct describes Shimmer as a newly revealed Hero and presents the reveal as resolving the identity of Mythra’s child. That is reported interpretation of the reveal; it should not be mistaken for a direct parentage statement on Nintendo’s expansion page. GamesRadar’s coverage of Shimmer explains that reading.
Is Mio Nia and Rex’s daughter?
The story and the photograph strongly support the common interpretation that Mio is Nia’s child, and that Rex is her father. The evidence cited here does not include a direct official statement naming that biological relationship, so it is more precise to call it a strong implication than an explicit spoken confirmation.

- “Fighting to live…and living to fight”. A brand new RPG adventure awaits in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, coming to Nintendo Switch this September. Bringing together the futures of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, this title will take players to the world of Aionios, home to two hostile nations.
- Keves: a nation where mechanical technology was developed. Their armies are composed of units consisting mainly of combat vehicles. They use units of small, mobile weapons operated by soldiers riding them.
- Agnus: a nation strong in ether, a magical technology. Their forces are built around units that specialise in ether combat, and they fight with small, mobile, autonomous weapons that use ether technology.
- Six soldiers hailing from these nations, will take part in a grand tale with life as its central theme.
- Noah: One of the protagonists of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and a solider of Keves. Noah is also an “off-seer” who mourns for soldiers who’ve lost their lives on the battlefield..Lanz: An ally of Noah’s who wields a great sword that doubles as a shield..Eunie: A childhood friend of Noah and Lanz who has a sharp tongue and rough personality. She specialises in healing her allies in battle..Mio: The other protagonist of this story, Mio is a soldier of Agnus and an off-seer like Noah..
How the games connect
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the third game in the series and takes place in Aionios, where elements of the first two game worlds come together. Nintendo’s Ask the Developer interview quotes MONOLITHSOFT executive director Tetsuya Takahashi: “No, the stories of one, two, and three all stand alone.” That context helps explain why the family photograph works as a reveal within the third game, while later material adds connections to characters from earlier entries.
