The available evidence does not confirm that players in Russia lost access to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS servers, or that a server restriction caused negative Steam reviews. Steam’s reviewed snapshot shows Russian-language reviews rated Mostly Positive, while its recent review summary is Mostly Negative across all languages. Neither figure identifies reviewers’ location or explains their reasons.
What Steam’s review figures do—and don’t—show
In the reviewed Steam store snapshot, the Russian-language review category had 346,639 reviews and a Mostly Positive rating. Steam’s recent summary showed 36,533 reviews across all languages and a Mostly Negative rating. These are different groups and time frames, so they cannot be treated as a direct before-and-after comparison.

Steam’s Russian category is based on the language of a review, not the reviewer’s residence. The recent summary covers all languages and does not show whether reviewers are in Russia. Both figures are platform snapshots that can change over time; they do not establish a Russia-specific trend or explain why anyone left a review.

That notice does not settle whether separate technical, commercial, regulatory, or regional service issues may have affected individual players. But the available material does not establish that Russian players broadly lost access to PUBG servers. Without direct confirmation from PUBG or credible independent reporting, the claim should be treated as unverified.
What do negative Steam reviews say?
Visible Steam Community reviews include criticism of PUBG’s handling of a 2026 esports controversy involving professional players. Those user-generated examples show that some reviewers criticized the game’s handling of that controversy; they do not represent all players, establish a Russia-specific access problem, or explain the overall recent review rating.
