Bandai Namco’s character reveal, reported on 30 April 2020, introduced Miu and her partner alongside new character details and battle screenshots. The game has since launched: its listed release date is 29 July 2022.
Who are Kaito and Miu Shinonome?
Kaito and Miu are siblings from the area where the teenagers’ story unfolds. Bandai Namco describes Kaito as Miu’s older brother and Miu as a mysterious local girl. Their contrasting personalities are reflected in how the publisher describes their partner Digimon.

What did the 2020 reveal show?
Gematsu and RPG Site reported the character information and screenshot reveal on 30 April 2020. The announcement introduced Miu and Syakomon, while contemporaneous coverage also covered Kaito and battle screenshots. It was a character update during the game’s pre-release period, not an announcement that the game was still forthcoming. (Gematsu; RPG Site)
How does the reveal fit into Digimon Survive?
Bandai Namco frames Digimon Survive as a story about teenagers drawn from a school camping trip into a dangerous world of monsters. Player choices affect Digimon evolution and the ending, and battles use a 2D, classic SRPG-style format. The publisher’s page describes it as “A story that evolves following the player’s choices and actions.”
