In an AAP profile published October 2, 2026, Dodd reflects on those gatherings and on “The Dining Table,” a duet with Kasey Chambers on his second studio album, Nightwire.
Who is Dingo?
Dingo is the stage name of Brandon Dodd, a musician raised on the NSW Central Coast. He joined Kasey Chambers’ band in his late teens, after playing in the blues-roots-rock duo Grizzlee Train. Dodd recalls opening for the Eagles in 2015 as an intense experience; looking back, he says he would have taken more time to appreciate it.
Music was part of Dodd’s family life early on. His first guitar was a right-handed instrument at home: his father, a left-handed butcher who had injured himself at work, had relearned to play with his right hand. Dodd grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Why does the dining table matter to him?
Dodd remembers sitting around the table with his parents and older brother, talking and sharing time together. He describes it as a place where “the deepest conversations come out.” That memory carries into his life on tour: he says family and friends gather around a camp table at home, at coastal campsites and in the outback.

The song “The Dining Table” draws on that sense of welcome and presence. Dodd’s lyric, as quoted in the profile, says: “There’s nothing you need to bring, you are your only offering.” The idea is that being together matters more than arriving with something to prove or provide.

The AAP profile describes “The Dining Table” as a ballad on the album, performed as a duet with Chambers, and reported that the album was set for release on October 9, 2026. How does touring shape the story?
The profile describes a slower way of travelling between Australian shows: Chambers stopped flying between tour stops years ago and instead travels in a Chevrolet ute and caravan. Dodd says, “We drive around Australia and we take our time — that has changed the way I see my own life.” In his account, the journey and the stories collected on the way are part of the shared experience, not just a means of getting to the next venue.
The AAP article reported that an album tour was due to start October 8, 2026, with opening appearances on some regional Together Alone shows featuring Troy Cassar-Daley and Ian Moss. Those are schedule details reported at publication, not confirmation of current or future dates.
