The original Dino Crisis is already listed for PS4 and PS5. The game Sony has newly announced for PlayStation Plus Premium Classics is Dino Crisis 2, arriving later in 2026. Sony’s September 3 announcement gives no month or exact date, so “next month” is not confirmed.
Which Dino Crisis game is coming to PlayStation Plus?
Sony announced that Dino Crisis 2 will join the PlayStation Plus Premium Classics catalog later in 2026. The announcement names the service and the year, but does not specify a month or day. That means the confirmed timing is later in 2026—not a particular “next month” date. Sony’s September 3, 2026 State of Play recap is the official source for the announcement.

The wording matters: Sony’s recap lists Mega Man X: Command Mission as coming “in September,” then names Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank as arriving later that year. September is attached to Mega Man X: Command Mission, not to Dino Crisis 2.
Is the original Dino Crisis already on PS5?
Yes. The original Dino Crisis has a U.S. PlayStation Store listing for PS4 and PS5, with a listed release date of October 15, 2024. The listing identifies Capcom U.S.A., Inc. as publisher and describes the game as the PlayStation original converted for current consoles. Check the official U.S. PlayStation Store listing for current availability and price; store details can vary by region and change over time.

What the PS4 and PS5 version includes
The Store listing says the conversion adds up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. It supports one player and offline play. Sony also cautions that the converted game may play differently from the original PlayStation version and may have functionality differences; PlayStation console peripherals are not supported. PS5 and PS Portal cloud streaming are listed as PlayStation Plus Premium features.
How to tell the original apart from the sequel
The original game’s listing describes a covert mission to an isolated research facility. A scientist reported dead three years earlier is found alive, while prehistoric threats endanger the mission. Those details identify the 1999-era original listing—not the newly announced Dino Crisis 2 catalog addition.

What is confirmed—and what is not
- Confirmed: The original Dino Crisis is listed for PS4 and PS5 in the U.S. PlayStation Store.
- Confirmed: Sony announced Dino Crisis 2 for PlayStation Plus Premium Classics later in 2026.
- Not confirmed by Sony’s announcement: A specific month or release day for Dino Crisis 2, including a “next month” date.
- Not specified: Whether Dino Crisis 2 will also be sold separately from the subscription catalog.
The announcement is credited to Gillen McAllister, Manager of Content Communications at Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Sachie Kobari of PlayStation.Blog Japan. Until Sony provides a more precise date, the reliable description is simply “later in 2026.”
