If “With Great Power…” seems stuck, check the exact objective in your quest log first: each cave gate has a different required action, and the two fixes Gameloft documents apply only to specific symptoms. Use the sequence below to find your current step, then follow the matching remedy.
Check which step is stalled
“With Great Power…” is a Merlin story quest that becomes available after you complete “Friendship Is Everything” and unlock Dazzle Beach. Its opening cave and the Mystical Cave are different locations: Ursula is first found in her cursed cave, while the Mystical Cave contains the three gates.
Compare the quest-log objective with this order. The quest walkthrough is community-maintained, so use your current in-game objective as the guide if your version behaves differently. Dreamlight Valley Wiki: “With Great Power…”
- Talk to Merlin.
- Explore Ursula’s cursed cave.
- Place Ursula’s Crystal Key at the device near the Mystical Cave entrance.
- Enter the Mystical Cave and clear its first, second, and third Magic Gates.
- Fish for the Orb of Power at the bottom of the cave.
- Place the Orb in the Pillar on Dazzle Beach.
- Return to Ursula, then tell Merlin she is free.
Match the gate objective to its required action
First gate: place three gems
Put a Peridot in the green statue, an Aquamarine in the blue statue, and a Garnet in the red statue. The walkthrough identifies the statues as green on the left, blue in the middle, and red on the right. If the gate does not open, check that each gem is in the matching statue.

Second gate: plant the correct seeds
Plant Tomato, Carrot, and Wheat seeds in the three soil patches, water them, and wait for them to grow. Do not harvest the crops before completing the next gate’s cooking step.
Third gate: make and eat Veggie Pasta
Use one tomato, one carrot, and one wheat to cook Veggie Pasta, then eat it to clear the gate. These puzzle details come from GameSpot’s September 7, 2022 walkthrough, which describes the original quest sequence; it is older than current game builds. Bottom of the cave: fish for the Orb
Fish at the glowing yellow ripple to retrieve the Orb of Power. Place the Orb in the Pillar on Dazzle Beach, return to Ursula, and then tell Merlin she is free.
Use Gameloft’s fixes only for the matching symptoms
You planted the wrong seed at the second gate
Gameloft’s Known Quest Issues page says planting the wrong seed at the second gate is not a bug and recommends digging and planting again. Dig up the incorrect planting, put the required Tomato, Carrot, and Wheat seeds in the soil, and water them. Gameloft: Known Quest Issues

Ursula does not appear after the Orb sequence and speaking with Merlin
For this specific issue, Gameloft recommends restarting the game and using the map to look for Ursula in ponds or the sea. This guidance concerns Ursula’s appearance at that point in the quest; it is not a documented fix for a gate that will not open or a different missing objective. The official support guidance above covers the wrong-seed case and Ursula missing after the Orb sequence, not every possible stall or save state. If your problem does not match either symptom, contact Gameloft support with the exact quest-log wording, your platform, and the actions you have already completed. The cited guidance does not establish deleting save data, reinstalling the game, or resetting a save as remedies for this quest.
