Use an outfit preset to return to a saved look quickly; build an outfit piece by piece when you want to experiment or change individual items. Gameloft’s 2024 Dapper Delights update announcement documented up to four named presets in the Wardrobe Menu. For custom clothing designs, Touch of Magic is a separate feature—not another kind of outfit preset.
What outfit presets do
Presets let you save named outfit combinations and switch back to them from the Wardrobe Menu. In its August 21, 2024 Dapper Delights announcement, Gameloft described the feature as: “Save up to four outfits and name them in the Wardrobe Menu, enabling you to quickly swap between you favorite ‘fits.” The announcement’s documented limit was up to four saved outfits. Because that figure comes from a 2024 feature description, check the current in-game menu for any later change.
A preset is most useful for a look you expect to wear again: save it once, then select it rather than choosing the same pieces individually each time. The announcement establishes saving, naming, and switching, but does not specify every detail of how presets behave when edited or what avatar attributes they include.
What building an outfit from scratch involves
Building from scratch means choosing individual clothing items in the Wardrobe. It gives you direct control over the pieces in the combination, making it a natural choice when you want to try a new look or replace just one item.

Which approach fits your goal?
| Your goal | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Return to a familiar look | Preset | Save and name the combination for later switching. Gameloft’s 2024 announcement documented up to four saved outfits. |
| Explore a new combination | Build from scratch | Choose individual pieces; Wardrobe search, favorites, hidden items, and sorting can help you find them. |
| Change an existing look item by item | Build or revise in the Wardrobe | Manual selection gives you control over individual clothing pieces. Save the resulting look as a preset if you want to reuse it and a slot is available. |
| Change the design of a clothing item | Touch of Magic | It is a distinct clothing-design workflow for eligible pieces, not a way to save a full outfit combination. |
Presets and Touch of Magic are different
A preset stores a reusable outfit combination. Touch of Magic changes the design of eligible clothing: the community-maintained Touch of Magic reference describes changing colors and adding motifs through the Wardrobe menu. These details come from a community wiki, so check the in-game options for what is available to a particular item.
If you are asking “How do you make an outfit preset?”, the short answer is to use the Wardrobe Menu’s preset feature to save and name a look. A Reddit community discussion uses that question in its title, but it is not documentation of the interface; Gameloft’s update announcement is the source for the feature description.
