Spoilers for Episode 1. A handful of choices in Dispatch set reputation or relationship flags that can affect later dialogue; many other responses are flavor, and some action choices only change how a scene plays. The biggest decisions are whether to save the Soothing Goon, how Robert treats Blonde Blazer, and what tone he takes at the press conference and bar. Dispatch assignments work differently: matching a hero’s abilities to a call improves the fit, but does not guarantee success.
Which Episode 1 choices have lasting effects?
Walkthroughs identify a few choices as remembered or consequential, but they do not establish every possible branch or guarantee a specific later-episode result. Use this guide to distinguish reported flags from cosmetic choices and dialogue whose impact is not established.

AdHoc Studio’s official Steam description says, “In Dispatch, every decision you make influences the unfolding narrative. From banter in the breakroom to life-or-death situations in the field, your choices affect your relationships with the heroes, their allegiances, and the path your own story takes.” That describes the game broadly; it does not confirm the specific outcome of every Episode 1 selection.
Opening: Robert’s father and the Soothing Goon
What to say about Robert’s father
The opening conversation offers “I love my dad,” “Didn’t know him well,” and “He’s gone.” Tpose Gaming describes these responses as anecdotal rather than consequential, so choose whichever best fits how you want Robert to sound.

Let the Soothing Goon drop or save him
When the Soothing Goon hangs from a balcony, Robert can let him fall or pull him back. Letting him drop is the harsher, antiheroic response. Walkthroughs report that the Goon survives, remembers Robert’s action, and reacts to it later. They do not report a major change to the episode’s overall outcome.
Infiltration and the Toxic confrontation
The pursuit of Shroud includes quick-time events and a hacking minigame. The opponent revealed during the encounter is Toxic—the same person Robert previously met as the Soothing Goon.
Choose Robert’s tone, then punt or stomp
At the confrontation, Robert can answer in a more merciful or ruthless tone. He can then punt or stomp Toxic. Tpose Gaming reports that punt versus stomp changes the cutscene animation, not the long-term story.
The later sequence includes more combat quick-time events and a rocket-booster decision after Shroud appears. The walkthroughs do not establish a reliable comparison of the lasting outcomes for that final decision, so no particular consequence can be stated with confidence.

Press conference: reputation and responses
The first two questions ask whether Robert has something to say to fans and whether he is retiring. Tpose Gaming says the responses to those questions have no impact. The third asks how disappointed Robert’s father would be; its three answers have different reported reputation results:

Street encounter: the punch and Blonde Blazer’s arrival
Robert encounters thieves outside a shop. The scene includes dialogue about confronting them and a choice of left- or right-handed punch. Tpose Gaming reports that the left punch succeeds and the right punch does not. Blonde Blazer then offers help with Robert’s injured arm, leading into the bar sequence. The guides do not establish whether every line in the street conversation affects later story state.

What to say about Robert’s motivation
At the bar, Robert’s answer about why he helps people is a relationship choice, according to Tpose Gaming. Into Indie Games also says Blonde Blazer remembers the “I like helping people” response.

Kiss Blonde Blazer or let the moment pass
At the billboard, Robert can kiss Blonde Blazer or let the moment pass. The guides describe the kiss as a remembered relationship choice that starts or improves a romance path; passing makes that path harder to recover. Treat it as an early romance flag, not a promise of a specific outcome in a later episode or a lock on the entire season.

During the bar incident with Flambae, Robert can choose water or alcohol. Tpose Gaming frames water as the more heroic response and alcohol as reckless or antiheroic; Into Indie Games reports that the alcohol choice is remembered. Either selection leads to Robert being ejected from the bar. The explanation he gives Blonde Blazer afterward changes to reflect his choice.
Accepting the dispatcher job
After Blonde Blazer reveals the job opportunity, Robert can respond to the offer. Into Indie Games follows the “When do I start?” response into the dispatch tutorial. The walkthroughs do not compare the full downstream consequences of declining or selecting another response, so the effect of those alternatives is not established here.

Read the requirements shown on each call, then assign heroes whose stats suit the incident. The walkthroughs give examples: intelligence for investigations, charisma for social calls, and mobility or combat for a chase. Their listed calls and suggested heroes vary, so use the in-game requirements as the primary guide rather than relying on one fixed roster assignment.
- Check the call’s requirements. Read the relevant stats or skills displayed in the game.
- Match heroes to the task. Favor the abilities that fit the incident, such as intelligence for an investigation or mobility for a chase.
- Review the mission result. A strong match improves the odds or performance grade; even the recommended hero is not a guarantee of success.
End-of-episode choice at home
At home, Robert chooses how to feed his dog. Into Indie Games lists giving him cereal among the options and shows that selection in its playthrough. The source does not establish a material long-term consequence for the alternatives, so this is best treated as a closing flavor choice.
