Dispatch is an already-released superhero workplace comedy from AdHoc Studio, starring Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright and Laura Bailey as part of a much larger ensemble. You play Robert Robertson—Mecha Man—whose destroyed suit leaves him managing former supervillains at a Los Angeles dispatch center. The game combines story choices and office relationships with assigning heroes to emergencies and managing the team.
What is Dispatch?
Dispatch follows Robert Robertson, known as Mecha Man, after his mech suit is destroyed. He takes a job at a superhero dispatch center, where he sends a roster of former supervillains on emergencies as they pursue a chance at redemption. AdHoc Studio describes the game as a blend of narrative, strategy and humor, rather than a conventional superhero action game. PlayStation’s official listing and the Xbox store listing outline the premise and gameplay.
How does the gameplay work?
The game alternates between story scenes and workplace relationships, and a strategy map where you assign heroes to emergencies. You weigh each assignment’s risks and rewards, then manage or upgrade your roster. Decisions can affect relationships, allegiances and how the story unfolds. The dispatch-management layer is central to the experience, not a side activity attached to a purely cinematic story.
In an Xbox Wire interview, AdHoc co-founder Nick Herman said the team wanted to connect interactive cinematic scenes with gameplay: “Solving that disconnect was one of our main goals at AdHoc, and Dispatch was the first example of it working.” That is Herman’s description of the design goal, not an independent assessment of how well it succeeds.

Who is in the cast?
Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright and Laura Bailey are among the named performers, not the complete cast. The PlayStation listing also names Erin Yvette, MoistCr1TiKaL (Charles White), Jacksepticeye, Travis Willingham, Alanah Pearce, Lance Cantstopolis, Joel Haver, THOT SQUAD, Yung Gravy and Matthew Mercer. What platforms can you play Dispatch on?
Official listings cover PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC and cloud, and Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 compatibility. Release dates differ by platform and market: the Xbox US listing gives July 29, 2026, Nintendo Australia gives January 29, 2026 for Switch, and Nintendo Canada announced availability on January 28, 2026. Those are market-specific dates, not a single universal launch date. Check the store for your region and platform for current availability.

Which edition should you choose?
The right choice depends on your platform, whether you want a digital or physical copy, and which extras matter to you. Store listings and publisher announcements describe these editions and platform-specific additions:

What the physical Deluxe extras include
According to AdHoc Studio’s physical-edition announcement, the digital artbook is 100+ pages, the four digital comics total 45+ pages, the printed “SDN’s Guide to Dispatching” is 16 pages, and the soundtrack set contains three records. The package includes a soundtrack download code, not the three physical records. The artbook and comics are English-only. The announcement lists the physical game on disc or cartridge, but its platforms are specific: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.
Nintendo’s content difference
Nintendo’s Australian listing says some mature content from the original has been modified. AdHoc states, “Some Nintendo Switch content has been censored from the original game content,” and describes the HR Violations Pack as offering settings to customize censorship. This is a difference to consider when choosing the Nintendo version; the sources do not establish a reason for the changes.
