Dispatch players reportedly found a hidden fourth ending in the game’s data, and reports call it “Tactician.” A developer was quoted as saying it might be a bug after noting that no one had unlocked it at that point. That is evidence for a possible bug—not proof that the ending is definitely bugged today. Its current status and a verified unlock method remain unclear.

What is the Tactician ending?

“Tactician” is the name secondary reports attach to a hidden fourth ending in Dispatch. Players reportedly identified it by examining the game’s data, rather than by discovering a confirmed route through ordinary play. TheGamer’s report and PCGamesN’s coverage describe the discovery.

Finding an ending’s label or associated data does not, by itself, demonstrate that players can reach it in the released game. Nor does it establish what choices or achievements would trigger it.

Why do people think the ending is bugged?

In secondary coverage, AdHoc Studio co-founder Nick Herman was reported as surprised that no player had unlocked the ending and was quoted as saying, “It might just be a bug.” IGN’s report relays the remark. The wording matters: it presents a possibility, not a definitive diagnosis, and the remark is reported by a journalist rather than cited here from a direct transcript or official patch note.

The report reflects what was understood at that point. It does not establish whether a later update changed the ending’s behavior.

Is the fourth ending definitely bugged now?

That has not been established. Later community discussion includes both speculation about whether the issue was fixed and a player’s claim of reaching the Tactician ending. Those posts do not verify the exact conditions, demonstrate a reproducible method, or confirm an official fix. A Reddit discussion about the ending is community evidence, not an authoritative status update.

The most careful conclusion is that the ending was reported as possibly bugged, while its current official status remains unresolved. The available reports do not establish that it is still bugged, has been fixed, or is reliably unlockable.

How do you unlock the Tactician ending?

There is no verified unlock procedure in the available reporting. One proposed theory connects the ending to completing all 26 hacks and earning the “H4ck3d by R0b3rt” achievement. TheGamer presents this as a possible condition; it should be treated as a player or data-mining theory, not a confirmed instruction from AdHoc.

Completing the hacks may be a reasonable thing to try if you want to test that theory, but the reports do not show that doing so reliably unlocks the ending. A community claim of success is not enough to establish a repeatable route.

What evidence would settle the question?

A current statement from AdHoc or a patch note explaining the ending’s status would clarify whether it was a bug and whether it has been addressed. For an unlock method, a reproducible sequence of in-game requirements—or a developer-confirmed condition—would be stronger evidence than a hidden name in game data or an isolated player report.

Until such confirmation is available, keep the claims distinct: reporting associates “Tactician” with a hidden ending; the developer was quoted as saying it might be a bug; and the proposed all-hacks condition and later success claims remain unverified.
