Divine Frequency, the surreal horror FPS-RPG from developer Abraxaes, is scheduled to launch in Early Access in October 2026. The dates currently differ: Steam lists October 26, while PC Gamer reported October 27 based on the developer’s announcement. The Steam date is the current store listing, but check it again before publishing because release dates can change.

When does Divine Frequency release?

Steam’s listing for Divine Frequency gives October 26, 2026. PC Gamer’s October 6, 2026 report says the developer announced an October 27 launch in a September 25 trailer. That one-day mismatch is unresolved in the available listings; use Steam’s live date as the current storefront information, rather than treating the two dates as interchangeable.

The Steam page describes the game as a single-player Action/Adventure/Indie title and offers a demo. It is developed and published by Abraxaes.

What will Early Access include?

Abraxaes describes the Early Access release on Steam as about 70% of the planned full game, comprising two of the campaign’s three chapters. That percentage and chapter count are the developer’s stated scope, not an independent measure of completion.

The developer’s stated full-version plans include the remaining campaign chapter and additional content, including enemies, bosses, builds and upgrades, music, story elements, fixes, and a Hardcore Mode. These are plans for the finished version, not features guaranteed for a particular update. Steam labels the game a work in progress and cautions that it may change.

Why was development affected by the lead writer’s death?

In a March 29, 2026 update on Abraxaes’s Steam Community page, the developer said lead writer and lore-master Pablo “Artistical” Lamprea died in April 2025. Abraxaes credited Lamprea with shaping the game’s world and writing most of its dialogue, item descriptions, notes, and computer logs.

Abraxaes said it had intended to wait until a development build was ready for Lamprea to play before finalizing Act 2’s writing. According to the developer’s account, that opportunity did not come, and Act 2 was left without Lamprea’s intended writing contribution. This is the developer’s description of his role and the effect of his death on development.

What other delays did the developer describe?

Abraxaes also said some sound libraries it had purchased were found to contain stolen audio, requiring affected files to be replaced and delaying the game. PC Gamer likewise reported this issue while attributing the explanation to the developer.

Should you play in Early Access or wait?

Early Access may suit players who want to try the available chapters before the full campaign is complete and are comfortable with a work in progress. If you would rather play the intended three-chapter campaign as a whole, wait for the completed version: Abraxaes estimates Early Access will last roughly a year but says delays could extend it to two years. That is a developer estimate, not a fixed end date.
