No. A paid Roblox private server is a monthly subscription, not a permanent purchase. It renews with Robux; if the renewal fails for lack of Robux, the server expires. Canceling stops the next renewal, but you can keep using the server through the period you have already paid for.
How long does a paid Roblox private server last?
Roblox charges an initial amount and then renews the server monthly on the same date. The experience creator sets the price in Robux, and the server’s configuration page shows its renewal date. See Roblox’s Private / VIP Servers FAQ for the current rules.

A private server therefore remains available only while its subscription is active. It is not a one-time purchase that gives you permanent access.
What happens if you do not have enough Robux?
If your account does not have enough Robux on the renewal date, Roblox says the server expires and can no longer be used. You can purchase a new server at any time, subject to the experience’s available options and price.

- 2-MINUTE SETUP, PRIVATE BY DESIGN: Guided phone setup; your details stay on the device and it only reads public Discord counts over an encrypted connection.
- THE GIFT FOR A DISCORD SERVER OWNER: Comes pre-flashed with a desk stand and setup card. One device also tracks YouTube, Twitch, Spotify, GitHub, Bluesky and 13 more - switch anytime.
How to cancel a private server subscription
- Open the experience on Roblox and go to its Servers section.
- Open the menu beside your private server and choose the option to configure it.
- Check the renewal date and expiration date shown on the configuration page.
- Use Cancel or turn off the active subscription status before the renewal date to stop the next charge.
Cancellation does not end access immediately: Roblox says the server remains usable for the paid period. Check the expiration date on the configuration page to see when that access ends.
Does Roblox Plus make a private server permanent?
No. Roblox Plus includes free private-server access in supported games, but it does not make a server permanent. Roblox’s Roblox Plus support page says the benefit transitions starting September 24 to one free private server per game. The page states Roblox Plus became available on April 30, 2026; it does not specify a year for the September 24 transition date.

Separately purchased private servers continue to renew through their original payment method, even when the Plus benefit changes. Check whether the game supports private servers and whether your current Plus benefit covers one for that game before relying on free access.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who can join your private server?
Server access settings control who can join; they do not change the subscription or its renewal. Roblox says an owner can rename a server, create a server link, adjust restrictions, and allow up to 50 individual users or the friends list. For users under 13, access to other people’s private servers is limited to friends by default, and only friends can join their own private servers. Privacy settings may add further restrictions.
