Yes. Killing Santa Claus costs Fence reputation—the game’s Scav rep—whether you do it as a PMC or a Scav. Battlestate Games calls the penalty “significant,” but its published notes do not give an exact number. The rule matters when Santa is present as event content.
Does killing Santa lower Fence reputation?
Yes. Battlestate Games’ 0.12.12.10 patch notes, published December 25, 2021, state: “For killing Santa Claus with either PMC or Scav, the player will get a significant reputation penalty with Fence.” Fence reputation is commonly called Scav rep or Scav karma.
Does it apply if you kill Santa as a PMC?
Yes. The official rule explicitly covers kills made as either a PMC or a Scav, so playing as a PMC does not avoid the Fence reputation loss.
How much Scav rep do you lose?
The cited official patch notes describe the loss only as “significant”; they do not specify a numeric deduction. An exact amount cannot be established from that source.

Is Santa in every raid?
No. Santa was introduced in the 2021 notes as a peaceful New Year’s event bot who gives out presents, so his presence is tied to event content rather than established as a permanent feature. The community-maintained Events listing records Santa in the 2025 Kolotun event on all locations except The Lab and The Labyrinth. That listing does not confirm whether a Santa event is live on October 8, 2026.
