In Blox Fruits, you need Blue Gear to unlock access to the Race Awakening (V4) trials. Finding it does not complete the trials or fully awaken your race; it is one prerequisite in a longer progression sequence.
What Blue Gear unlocks—and what it does not
Blue Gear is a progression item used to unlock access to the V4 trials. Collecting it is not the same as completing those trials: you must still return to the Temple of Time and complete the separate steps that open trial access, then take part in the trials themselves. This progression is described in community-maintained guides, rather than official developer documentation; check current in-game prompts if an update changes the mechanics. Prerequisites to collect Blue Gear
The Blue Gear guide lists these requirements:
- Access to the Third Sea
- Completion of the Sealed King quest
- Defeat of rip_indra in True Form
- A Mirror Fractal
- Race V3
These are guide-reported requirements and have not been confirmed here against official developer documentation. Blue Gear guide
How to find and collect Blue Gear
- Find Mirage Island in the Third Sea. The island can spawn at any time of day, with the community guide listing Sea Danger Levels 2–6 as its spawn range. It may despawn after 15 minutes or if the player who spawned it is no longer nearby. Mirage Island guide
- Wait until night on the island. Go to a high point, activate your race ability while looking toward the moon, and wait for the resonance message. The puzzle guide says any high point works and resonance takes about 5–15 seconds. Any moon phase works for resonance; a full moon is not required. Blue Gear guide Temple of Time puzzle guide
- Search the island and touch the gear. You collect Blue Gear by physically running over it. The gear despawns when day begins, and Mirage Island may disappear earlier, so search promptly. Blue Gear guide Mirage Island guide
- Return to the Temple of Time. After collection, the guides report an in-game message about a weird artifact and a distant chime from the Temple of Time. Interact with the hidden lever there to unlock trial access; completing the trials is still a separate step. Blue Gear guide Temple of Time puzzle guide
Do you need a full moon to get Blue Gear?
No full moon is required for the Mirror Fractal resonance step: the Blue Gear guide says any moon phase works. Night is still needed for resonance and collecting the gear. Mirage Island itself can spawn during any time of day, so do not confuse the island’s spawn timing with the nighttime steps performed after you find it. Blue Gear guide Mirage Island guide
