Does a Radeon RX 5000 Card Support PlayStation 5 QSSR? How to Check

Sony’s QSSR announcement covers PS5 titles, not PC graphics-card compatibility. RX 5000 support for AMD FSR or RSR does not establish QSSR support.

No official evidence in Sony’s announcement establishes that a Radeon RX 5000 card supports PlayStation 5 Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) on PC. Sony describes QSSR as an upscaling technology for PS5 games; it does not announce a PC version or list compatible PC graphics cards. Here’s how to check the feature name and platform without confusing QSSR with AMD’s separate PC upscaling features.

What Sony has announced about QSSR

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s October 1, 2026 PlayStation.Blog announcement introduces Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) for PS5 games. It names Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as the first titles to use the QSSR library.

The announcement does not describe QSSR for PC or identify any compatible PC graphics cards. That means RX 5000 support is not established by the available official announcement; it does not prove that Sony or AMD could never introduce a related PC feature.

How to check a game’s upscaling feature

  1. Read the exact feature name. Check the game’s settings, platform listing, or announcement. QSSR, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) are different names, not interchangeable labels.
  2. Check the feature’s platform. Sony’s announcement describes QSSR for PS5 titles. Look for explicit PC support in the game’s own documentation before expecting the feature on a computer.
  3. For FSR or RSR on PC, check AMD’s documentation separately. AMD’s Gaming Details page says selected RX 5000 cards support FSR, subject to the game’s minimum requirements and developer integration. AMD’s Adrenalin Edition 22.3.1 release notes state that RSR is compatible with RX 5000-series graphics and newer, subject to the stated driver and game-mode conditions.
  4. Match the documentation to the game and hardware. Confirm the game’s requirements and whether its developer implemented the named PC feature. RX 5000 compatibility with FSR or RSR does not establish compatibility with QSSR.

QSSR, FSR, and RSR are not the same support claim

Feature What the cited source establishes What it does not establish
QSSR Sony announced QSSR for PS5 games and named Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as its first titles (Sony, October 1, 2026). PC availability or Radeon RX 5000 support.
FSR AMD says selected RX 5000 cards support FSR, subject to game requirements and developer integration. QSSR support.
RSR AMD’s March 2022 release notes list RX 5000-series graphics and newer as compatible, with stated driver and game-mode conditions. QSSR support.

Sony’s announcement puts the rollout this way: “Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei will be the first titles to use the new Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) library.” That is a statement about PS5 titles, not a PC graphics-card compatibility list.
