The game includes a single-player campaign and multiplayer experiences with bots, but EA’s published information does not establish an offline mode for bot matches.
Can you play Battlefield 6 offline against bots?
EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ says, “An internet connection is necessary to download critical updates and play Battlefield 6.” EA’s purchase terms also specify a persistent internet connection for the PC edition and internet for console play. Those requirements mean you should not count on playing offline, including after installing the game or its updates.
EA documents bots as part of multiplayer experiences, not as a separate local or offline practice mode. An AI-filled match may have fewer human opponents, but it is not the same as a match you can start without an internet connection.
How are the campaign, bots, and offline play different?

Where do bots appear in multiplayer?
Initiation playlists at launch
EA’s New Player Guide described Initiation Multiplayer playlists for players up to Rank 10 at launch. It said each team was partially filled with bots and identified Breakthrough as the sole Initiation mode at that time. These are launch details, not a guarantee that the same playlist or configuration is currently available.

Bot backfill and other AI support
EA’s Game Update 1.2.3.0 notes describe bot backfill support in Operations, broader bot vehicle support across multiplayer experiences, maps, and modes, and changes to Portal bot behavior. This confirms that bots are used in online play; it does not add evidence of offline bot matches.
EA also notes on its Battlefield 6 game page that stats in Casual or Portal modes that backfill with AI are not tracked. Do not assume an AI-backfilled match will count toward ordinary stats.

Will the available modes stay the same?
Playlists and bot behavior can change with updates, so check EA’s current mode information or the in-game menus for what is available now. The key distinction remains: a multiplayer mode with bots is still not a documented offline mode, and EA’s stated internet requirement applies to playing the game.
