The official DELTARUNE FAQ answers “One” when asked how many endings there are. Choices can still change events and recruitment along the way.
What “pacifist” means in Deltarune
DELTARUNE lets you fight or spare enemies. Its official game page describes battles as ones you can “Fight or spare your way” through. To play pacifist-style, avoid defeating Darkners violently and use options such as ACT, SPARE, or Pacify when they are available.
“Pacifist route” is a useful player-facing label for this approach, but it does not mean the game has a distinct Pacifist ending. The route reference describes consequences for nonviolent play, including recruitment benefits from Chapter 2 onward. Violently defeating Darkners is tracked separately and can affect chapter outcomes and recruitment.
What the Weird Route is—and why “genocide” can mislead
The Weird Route is an alternate path that starts in Chapter 2. It involves pressuring Kris and Noelle; in the Cyber World, many Darkners become Frozen, and the route has distinctive dialogue and cutscenes. Players sometimes call it a “genocide route” by comparison with Undertale, but Weird Route is the clearer term. It is not an official genocide ending.

In other words, route labels describe how you play and what can happen within chapters. They do not establish separate game-wide endings: the official FAQ says DELTARUNE has one ending.
Do your choices matter if there is one ending?
Yes. A single ending does not mean every playthrough has identical events. The route reference documents differences in chapter events and recruitment, while the official FAQ frames the distinction succinctly: after answering that there is “One” ending, it adds, “There’s something more important than reaching the end.” The FAQ does not specify every consequence, so the game’s eventual story outcomes should not be assumed to be fully settled by the currently released chapters.

The official game page lists Chapters 1–5 as available and says more chapters are planned as free updates. The official FAQ says Chapter 6 is in development; Steam’s official listing aims for 2027 for Chapter 6. Because the story is continuing, current route differences may not describe all consequences in future chapters.
